So, He is totaly covered in pomegranite juice…..got into a fight with the fruit….and lost apparently….
Seriously though, he is actualy much darker with the reds and blue/purple color, take the darkest picture and darken the colors another notch or two and that’s what we have! LoL I have NO idea what I’m doing with this one, so I hope he’ll turn out ok! Let me know what you all think!

November 22, 2006 at 9:08 am #511068That is SO COOL!!! 😀 It actually looks really pretty…I think you should try and preserve that look in your paintjob somehow….^_^ You’re in good company – I heard somewhere on here that Melody once did a PYO in condiments…I wonder what that one looked like!

-J R R TolkienNovember 22, 2006 at 11:37 am #511069Now there’s one ghostly little dragon! I love it – keep him that way as much as you can and display him with honors next Halloween.

My art: featherdust.comNovember 22, 2006 at 2:49 pm #511071Thats what I imagine watercolors would look like if I decided to use them. Not bad.
November 22, 2006 at 4:14 pm #511072HA HA!!!
Love it! I love the way the colors seep into the crags… very nice!
Actually… first thing I thought when I saw the first pic… it looks like if you stuck him under a black light he’d glow! 😀 too cool!!!
I say go with it… just keep working on him… he’ll tell you what to do and how to finish him… I know he’ll look great in the end!
Trust me… it happens all the time! I get a thought in my head of how I want to paint something… by the time I’m done… that horse, dragon etc… had a different idea and so it looks TOTALLY different than the original idea… and yet still awesome! 😀
I can’t wait to see him finished!

When I click on the link I get the emperor dragon anatomy sketches (file 49 in Melody’s gallery)… ❓November 22, 2006 at 5:17 pm #511074mimitrek wrote:Nambroth wrote:Arlla wrote:That is SO COOL!!! 😀 It actually looks really pretty…I think you should try and preserve that look in your paintjob somehow….^_^ You’re in good company – I heard somewhere on here that Melody once did a PYO in condiments…I wonder what that one looked like!

Eh? When I click on the link I get the emperor dragon anatomy sketches (file 49 in Melody’s gallery)… ❓Weird! Try clearing all your personal data from your browser and click again? Depending on the browser you use, it will store internet data in temporary areas of your computer. Mostly this includes images, so that it doesn’t have to load them each time. If the last time you accessed that part of Melody’s gallery was before she uploaded new pieces, the URL may be the same, but for a different gallery page, but your computer thinks it’s still the old one. Kinda confusing, but computers always are!
If all else fails, the image is located directly here:

November 22, 2006 at 7:19 pm #511076He is more purple this morning…..It seems that it gets more blue/purple with oxygen, kinda like reverse blood LoL it’s even more drastic with water, but it kinda washes off the pomegranite….

YEah, sounds like the pommegranite is oxidizing! Mmm pommegranate. So tasty!
He looks really neat by the way. Do you think he’ll be able to stay like that? Organic dyes, when used in fabrics, usually need a chemical reaction to ‘set’ them… I dunno what would happen on a gypsum sculpture like what you have!

No clue….I figgure if the pom doesn’t stay or turns a color, I’ll just acrylic over it….I’ll probably do that anyway? At least over some parts, I’m hoping that if the color stays long enough some of the permacrylic over coat will keep the color. I’ll try a patch on the bottom and see! =P
November 22, 2006 at 9:03 pm #511079Quick, he can’t see. 😆
