Definitely press charges – be safe
July 13, 2009 at 10:56 pm #775485Press charges, press charges! This nut job knows no limits. He got arrested again just after being released and was looking for you!!!!!!!!! Didn’t dawn on him he could be arrested again; just didn’t care and that’s scary! 😮 Your personally safety is at stake and yeah, working at another store would help!
So sorry this happened to you! You need a break from the weirdos and crap going on around you!
July 14, 2009 at 12:21 am #775486That is freaking scary.
Pyewacket’s advice via Nakase sounds excellent.
Pressing charges will probably be a stressful pain in the tail, but getting him off the streets will spare other innocent people from having to deal with him.
The one bright spot about him being such a horrific maniac, if he keeps it up, he’ll encounter far, far more pressing concerns than you. Of course he may too crazy to understand that, so take care and stay safe.
July 14, 2009 at 12:22 am #775487That is seriously messed up! 😮 What a freak! And shame on the officer for letting him go!
Yes, all the legal stuff can be such a hassle and no one likes to deal with it, but he came back looking for you. I would definitely take this further since you safety is now at risk. Please be safe!
July 14, 2009 at 1:33 am #775488How terribly frightening! I’m so sorry to hear you have to go through this :(. Please take care and stay safe!
July 14, 2009 at 3:13 am #775489OMG Drag0n! Definitely press charges. If you don’t he will just be released and he will have all of the freedom he wants. I am so freaked out for you! 😮
July 14, 2009 at 3:46 am #775490omg i’m so sorry-press charges the longer he’s in the slammer the better for you and every one. If he’s in there long enough he might not remeber were you live and you can always work some where else… 🙁
July 14, 2009 at 2:33 pm #775491Sorry I couldn’t reply faster you guys. I’m back at work now. My internet connection at home was SO FREAKING SLOW it took me nearly 3 hours to upload those unicorn pictures and post them into the Flea Market thread! GAH! I wanted to throw my damn computer!
Anyway, I got the write up in the paper and it says his name was Nicholas Fay and he was issued two different summons for two counts of reveiving stolen property and improper use of a credit card for under $250. The following he as arrested and charged with shiplifting from the store Famous Footwear.
That’s it though, it was really breif.
I talked to my manager today and he said I can get an escort to my car for the next few weeks until this whole thing blows over and I got repremand for having my purse at the desk in the first place. (saw that one coming)
To top it all off, supposedly the cell phone the guy had had numerous calls to the Home Depot phone number which the cop checked after I called him notifing them that I was receiving numerous calls on the job from an unknown person.
The only good news is apparently he is from Lynnfield which is a good hour and a half, two hour hike from my house. I guess detox must have released him in Taunton. (since this is where all the sober houses and clinics are I suppose, I dunno?)
*sigh* I’m still a little nerved up being here. My stomach is in knots thinking he’s going to just waltz in the building and stab me at my desk or something.
Oh yes… my purse is now in my new locker as well.

July 14, 2009 at 4:16 pm #775493Well, the other thing I just noticed is the address on my checks actually isn’t current either so hopefully he doesn’t know where I live either and is stalking the wrong location if he’s still holding a grudge.
Oh, someone asked why they let him go and to suggested I call the top officer, Well, LEGALLY speaking… NOBODY witnessed him first hand actually STEAL anything (well, until he got caught later on shoplifting at the mall I guess) So they had to let him go and only issued hima summons for receiving stolen property and trying to use the stolen credit cards. They can’t prove he was the one who actually stole them, so they leagally couldn’t arrest him. 😕
Those wonderful loop holes in the law are great for the general public, aren’t they?

July 14, 2009 at 4:59 pm #775495Pye’s advice:
Wrong. You had enough probable cause to arrest him on suspesion and to further investigate. Also that he entered Target with intent to commit a crime;ie use stolen credit cards;fraud, which is a felony not a misdemeanor. Yes the officers will do the minimum they can get away with because they are geared that way. The reason that you contact the sargeant is to let him know that his officers are not pursuing their cases to the extent that they should. (which always comes back to bite a department)The thing in the paper was the cops side of the story, not your side, that’s why it was so breif.
(goes off on chewing police out/grumbling session)
Pye is a retired cop, but doesn’t run around telling everyone.
Pye’s advice would take you out of you’re compfort zone, if you’re not prepared to do that than ignore Pye’s advice. Pye’s geared towards a different reaction, and angers her that the police did not follow through and you did not follow through.
What should’ve happened:
The front desk people at homedepot should have ID him
The people that saw him walking around should have ID him(including your friend that told you about him)
You should have ID him regardless of his scheme to mess up his face so you couldn’t ID him(and then him intimidating you to witness his crime by going back looking for you then calling you)
The cops should have fingerprinted your desk and keyboard
Checked video cameras(who else was walking around in a blue jumpsuit acting as a DM?)Other ID theft advice:
the debt concolidation people need to be advised and cards should be canceled
debit card should be canceled
checks should be canceled
do all the stay safe kinda things
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ll stop relaying Pye’s advice now : was just trying to help a friend stay safe <3
Only Security is allowed to view the tapes and our particular store does not have any LP on staff right now so nobody is even allowed to gain access to them. Not even the store manager.
PLUS, I think the cameras at out desk are fake anyway 👿
I did already cancel everything, I’m switching banks on my next day off too anyway. The fees for stopping the checks was friggin ridiculous!
Thank you for the advice Nakase
Apparently our police force is pretty lax in cases like this. The cop didn’t seem too concerned he came right back onto the store after they let him go. 🙄 Pfffft, for that matter, neither did our managers. :shrug: So much for thinking anyone in the store cares if he comes in and stabs me to death at my desk. They would just watch and try and politely ask him to refrain from stabbing them employees next time he shops at the home depot.
July 14, 2009 at 7:25 pm #775498cops are like any other government official. If you don’t hold them accountable for their actions they won’t hold themselves accountable. Besides, if the people don’t care, then why should they?
