Why bird feathers?

I don’t know if this was ever asked before or not.

Why and what made you decide to put bird feathers on part of the back of most if not all dragons’ wings?

That’s how I always drew wings… so I never thought of it any differently.

The dragon in Eragon has feathers. =D At least, in the movie…e.e I haven’t read the book.

They’re not really feathers, though they appear that way. They are large flexible plate-like scales. 🙂 I used to have the official character sheet but I can’t find it now, wouldn’t you know it… >_>

I think the Windstone dragon feathers are cool. =) I especially like the ones on the male, for some reason.

Ok, so maybe I’m blind.. but I don’t see the “bird feathers” you guys are referring to. Could someone post a picture so I’m less confused? And though the drawing is good.. (and it helps~) what about on the sculpts? 😀 😕

Just look on the backs of the wings by the top, you will see the feathers 😀
