I usually just snipe “by hand” as it were.

(i am happy with the one white dragon i have, and i do not have the money to buy an ow or sk. fear not.)
If ebay catches you using a sniping program, they won’t react kindly, just so you know.

What do you mean? By snipping, I mean you wait til the last second and bid like crazy….not sure if there’s another type.
March 16, 2007 at 12:30 am #551852There are ways to have a computer automatically snipe for you, so you don’t have to wait and risk waiting too long. Ebay doesn’t like them though.
March 16, 2007 at 12:50 am #551853No. If you use a computer program to snipe, Ebay will close your account. Not a good idea.

Emerald clarified.
Ebay says ‘play fair or get out’ basically. You can’t use sniping software or they’ll kick you off.
March 16, 2007 at 1:38 am #551855i did not know ebay felt like that. when did they start cracking down on it? i dont always have time to wait for acutions to end. so, i guess i will go back to my, bid as high as i want, and if i get it, i get it. 😐
March 16, 2007 at 1:47 am #551856It’s been that way for a while, as far as I remember. I guess when that stuff started getting popular.
March 16, 2007 at 1:54 am #551857They’ve always had that policy.
But they don’t usually catch you at it. I’ve done it twice, when something I REALLY wanted was ending while I was out of town and had no net access. I figured it was worth the risk. *shrugs* I don’t do it on a regular basis though.
March 16, 2007 at 1:58 am #551858Just giving out my ebay info to a site like that gives me the willies. 😛
I’ll do it the old fashioned way. Most of my work is done on a computer anyway, so I’m never far away at the end of an auction. 🙂
March 18, 2007 at 3:17 am #551859Oh, man. I lost ALL my dragons I was bidding on. 😥 😥 They all went up at the very end and I took my kids to the zoo. Just put in my high bid and left hoping to get one. Maybe next time. Had a great time today though.
March 18, 2007 at 3:41 am #551860i think nirvanacat got most of them. i had a window on them up while i was working earlier. in the last minute they all jumped 50-100 dollars. i am so glad i did not want them.
but congrats to those who did manage to get one or more. 🙂
