Just out of curiosity… Where and what sort of venues (Dragon Con, Faerieworlds Festival, Art Galleries, etc.) would you like to see Windstone Editions attend? What venues are close to where you live that you would attend if Windstone were there? Are there any websites you think Windstone should link to? Any ideas?
I’ll kick it off with the Faerieworlds Festival which is held in Eugene, OR and has an average attendance of 8,000 people. Then there is the huge Shakespearean Festival in Ashland, OR and another just as large that is in Cedar City, UT.
For website links I like this one: http://dragonart.ning.com
and this one: http://www.faeriemagazine.comtwindragonsmum π

March 13, 2009 at 7:08 pm #755756I just wish there was somewhere in Hawaii that sold Windstones. Maybe the gang can come to Hawaii and try to get someone to carry them:)
March 13, 2009 at 7:33 pm #755757Conventions and such don’t come here. We get two very small conventions… an anime, and comic convention here once a year and that’s it.
March 13, 2009 at 7:53 pm #755758This would certainly give me another reason to try and see Dragoncon. π Considering last year they had over 35,000 people attend, I would like to think Windstone would do very well.
March 13, 2009 at 8:23 pm #755759I’m not sure if there are big venues around here that would be Windstone friendly; I’d need to ask someone. But I think it would be great if Windstone could go to as many large venues as possible to hook new collectors π
March 14, 2009 at 2:53 pm #755760I think it would be awesome for Windstone to go to DragonCon for sure. I remember from my one trip to DC (almost 10 years ago) that there was at least one dealer selling Windstones in the Dealers Room. There may have been more and I just missed them in all the confusion. I would imagine though that it might be cost prohibitive though…shipping stock to be sold and then possibly not selling it.
March 16, 2009 at 6:16 am #755761Well I’ll be… I went browsing after the whale watching trip today and found a store that sold Windstones. I couldnt believe it. Tey had three ruby dragons left, the em pea family, and a gold mom along with some candle lamps. I wanted to buy something just to buy!!
March 16, 2009 at 9:18 am #755762π I don’t think we have anything like Dragoncon around my area π
But then again I never go out so I wouldn’t know what is out there. I’m a little bit of an hermit π³
The only time I go out is once or twice a year I go see a movie….wait! I haven’t in 2008!If they did have a dragoncon I would try to attend for sure. π
March 16, 2009 at 9:06 pm #755763BDW, you have Worldcon this year in Montreal:

I had a great time last year!!
March 17, 2009 at 1:01 am #755764I don’t think we have anything like that around here. The closest thing would probably be The Home and Garden Show at the Florida Fairgrounds and that would be great I would love to see a seller there.
March 17, 2009 at 8:41 pm #755765I sell Windstones at a few science fiction conventions, but mostly in the midwest. I have a list of them on my website on the Contact Us page. I think I need to update it though. I was going to try to go to DragonCon this year, but couldn’t afford the booth/table. Maybe next year. It’s on my Bucket List. π

Just so you know, you’d have some stiff competition at Dragon*Con– http://www.shopnh.com/dragons/index.asp shows there in the dealer’s room and the last two years I’ve been, they’ve carried the entire Windstone line. It was kinda neat, since I hadn’t seen many of the statues before in person!

π Thank you Jasmine but π those are 3 and 5 hours drive away so I couldn’t go and then get back in one day and enjoy myself.
I can’t sleep there: home responsibilities. π
You would think that they would do one in Ottawa, Canada’s capital….NOOOOOO π It’s just 45 minutes drive from my place.March 18, 2009 at 3:01 pm #755768Jennifer wrote:emerald212 wrote:I sell Windstones at a few science fiction conventions, but mostly in the midwest.
