I love feeding seagulls! Mike hates it when I throw a chip to them. Only one bird for miles around. Throw one chip and it’s a scene from The Birds! 😆 They’re awesome! Love pidgeons as well!
May 25, 2008 at 10:09 am #707117I ran across one smart seagull…I brought a hunk of salmon down from the lunchroom and he was the only one around. He didn’t make a sound…just enjoyed his lunch. 😆
May 25, 2008 at 1:13 pm #707118Nooooo!!! Don’t feed seagulls!!! They’re the terror of the beaches and outdoor eateries here!!! 😯
May 25, 2008 at 1:59 pm #707119Actually Star is right; unless you’re feeding them the proper foods (which are not bread, chips, french fries, crackers, or any other processed human foods, especially junk foods) you are actually causing them more harm than good. 😉
Mind you, it is fascinating to see them learn to adapt and their behavior around humans, but its really bad for them on a large scale.

My art: featherdust.comMay 25, 2008 at 3:25 pm #707120I know I shouldn’t, but I doubt they are going to keel over after eating a couple cheetos.
May 25, 2008 at 5:13 pm #707121Besides, I was thinking more along the lines of what a huge flock of seagulls leave behind….especially on cars. 😆
May 25, 2008 at 6:08 pm #707122Ok, since seagulls came up-lol Once when I was probably 9 years old my mom and I were at Seaworld and I had a hot dog for lunch, a seagull swooped down and stole my hot dog right out of the bun, WHILE I was holding it! 😯
May 25, 2008 at 6:18 pm #707123I once threw bits of squid in the air (it was our fishing bait) and it was the coolest thing to see them nose dive and catch it in mid-air!
May 25, 2008 at 6:23 pm #707124Yeah, they’re like little rabid flying rats 😆
When I feed them, I do make sure we’re the only ones around.
I was walking though the jungle walk at the Wild Animal Park. One of the big a@@ birds pooped a huge black poop on me. Gross 😆 Karma 😆May 25, 2008 at 6:32 pm #707125I think it would be neat to have a Phoenix

I know what a pain it is just to trailer the horses somewhere.
How do you move emus 😯How many animals do you have? It sounds like a mini zoo!We are looking for somebody with a stock trailer to move them. We need to do this soon, before it gets hot. I have no idea how to move emus, but I assume you stick them in a stock trailer with a buddy they get along with (like a llama) and go.
We have llama #7 and one goat that are in Oregon. The rest of the animals are here.
At the shop we got the Macaw, two bearded dragons, a snake and an enormous iguana.
Karen adopted our two shop cats, fortunately, they would of been a real problem to deal with.
At home we got: six llamas, four sheep, a pony, and emu, a peacock, ( may catch a male also to take with
us, they just roam wild) 3 chickens, six pigeons, twelve cockatiels, a conure, six love birds, nine ‘keets, eleven assorted turtles, ( we need to rehome the 8 California tortoises because we can’t take them out of the state)three cats, 5 ducks, a bunny, two tarantulas… Amber’s gecko… two tanks of fish… that makes 77.. creatures, not counting the fish. I’ve done well, I had over 150, I’ve trimmed it down considerably.May 25, 2008 at 6:42 pm #707127i have mine already 😀
May 25, 2008 at 6:52 pm #707128😯
I think all but the fish should be easy to move. I love fish, but they are a pain if you need to move.
I curious what you do with the sheep. Do you sheer them? That’s quite the menagerie! Do they all have names 😯

The sheep, Mandrake, Fauna, Cocoa, and Brownie are Barbados sheep, they have hair instead of heavy wool so we don’t need to shear them. The llamas: Cody, Jackson, Nita, Sage, Juniper, and Garnette, do need shearing.
