http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmFebruary 19, 2011 at 3:15 am #838506I have heard too many stories about these cabinet things breaking. I will never use them for windstones (even if I had the money!) because of them.
February 19, 2011 at 3:29 am #838507Seeing all these horror stories about cabinet shelves giving way makes me fear for my collection still in it’s cabinet at my ex-husband’s house. I am still living with my parents so I don’t have any place to put my cabinet or my collection. I don’t like not being able to check on the pieces every day.
February 19, 2011 at 3:44 am #838508OMG, my heart dropped to the floor when you started by mentioning the Labradorite Male Griffin. I just love that piece, and it would be awful to know that he was among the shattered; he is irreplaceable. We all have the fear of dropping a piece someday, but I can’t even imagine seeing this disaster. 😥
February 22, 2011 at 10:26 pm #838509I added some pics of the damage. Not as bad as I originally thought but i am not sure if they are repairable. I don’t know if I should just buy a new mama and papa griffin.
February 22, 2011 at 11:15 pm #838510I’m not sure what peoples prices are to get things like this fixed, but I know for sure that people on the forums have pulled off fixing dragons who have had their faces totally sheared off, so I’m sure there’s someone who could take on both of your Griffins.
The Male dragon I think for sure you could get fixed by pretty much anyone who does repairs – it doesn’t look like it’s too bad. Still, if you don’t mind owning pieces that are no longer in mint condition, I would check around and see if some people can quote you for everything – there are some talented guys and gals on this forum that can truly work some magic!
However, if you decide you will just get new griffins instead, let me know and I’d definitely buy your male from you to help with replacement!

It’s funny, but on the picture, if you look at the male griffin’s reflection, he looks undamaged!

His new name is 2 face! lol. Only half of his beak was broken off.
February 24, 2011 at 7:48 pm #838513I’m so sorry this happened Griffinlover, it’s like looking at pictures of a murder scene. You wanna cry AND be sick at the same time. 😥 :puke:
To be honest, despite the damage, they do look repairable. Luckily they are simple paint schemes to recreate. Most if it will be just flat black other then the facial areas. I use apoxie sculpt myself and it really is like magic. I’m sure you could get them fixed. In all honestly, I think the Male Dragon would be the most challeging one of them all. Of course resculpting the face of that Male Griffin would be no picnic depending on how many pieces of it you have.

I’ve never really had the money for a true curio…and I move stuff around so much anyway it wouldnt suit our home…My windstones are scattered all over the place. You’ll be looking at a shelf full of plants, vases, blown glass, or books and then “oh! a windstone!” I know my secret keeper has a sturdy table almost all to herself..it’s a table that was originally meant to hold a 75 gallon aquarium, so I figured it’d be a good place for her. My large rock dragon has the other end of that table…since he’s the other heaviest piece.
February 25, 2011 at 12:37 am #838515It does look like a murder scene Drag0n! What was really sad is the Male dragon was holding up the glass with his head saving the female that was right beside him. What a true Gentleman!
I think I might take your advice PC and just spread them out around the house. I have some book shelves and my mantel.
I found someone who wants to fix the Mommy and Daddy griffin. You all are to kind for wanting to help me and offering support. Thank you!
