January 31, 2008 at 7:16 am #660481If rent wasn’t stupid high out here I’d tell you pack and move to Calgary. There’s help wanted signs everywhere! and most are decent wages.

February 1, 2008 at 12:31 pm #660486Well, my resume is sent off to a person looking for a batherbrusher, and an assistant. Wish me luck. (I have alot of experience so hopefully I don’t have too much. I always hate that one. “You’re overqualified for the job….” 😕 )
I’m happy with the resume but, I ended up putting in on Word Pad since my Microsoft Word Perfect decided it didn’t want to work this week.
I’ll go over to my parents probably tonight to redo my resume on Word Perfect.
February 1, 2008 at 9:02 pm #660487Good luck Romeo!!
February 3, 2008 at 2:53 am #660488😳 I’m so embarrassed. I proof read my resume over and over, same with the cover letter. Unfortunatly, I forgot to check the name of the contact person. I got her name wrong!
Fortunatly, she did email me back. Now, I just have to see. Maybe, she will call me for an interview. But, the job would entail booking customers…. If I got her name wrong, then what will keep me from getting the customers names wrong… I can see why she wouldn’t call me but, I have the experience both from owning a dog grooming buisness, and over 11 years of customer service.
I hope she’ll overlook my stupidity… (For the record though, I reaserched the company to find out who to address the email to, so hopefully I get points for that.)
February 3, 2008 at 5:13 am #660489I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed!!! As for your boo-boo, don’t worry about it too much. One of our VPs makes mistakes like that in letters all the time. Just the other day, she referred to someone as Ms when it was definitely a Mr. 😉
February 4, 2008 at 3:14 am #660490😡 It’s official my landlord’s a …… 😕
It hasn’t been a year since my last rent increase…. He hasn’t given me any writen or verbal warning that rent is increasing. He has to give 90 days notice in writing on the proper form. I don’t think he has ever done this right. I’ve let him get away with it. This is the last straw! 👿 😡
Well, I guess I have to go back and properly explain. I paid my rent on time like always. He didn’t give me a receipt…. I thought “What the heck? Has he received my cheque or not?” Well, today someone droped off the receipt. It’s gone up by almost $10! (Why this is on the receipt when I haven’t paid that much, I don’t know…)
Now I’m going to have to fight this. This is bull crap. I just don’t need this on top of everything else that has happened.
I’m just going to crawl into the corner and cry now. This is shaping up to be a very bad year. 😕
February 4, 2008 at 3:22 am #660491Oh no!!! They can’t do that!!! Insist on the 90 days notice!!! Call a lawyer who offers a free consultation if you need to for advice!!! This is so wrong!!! 👿
February 4, 2008 at 3:42 am #660492Yep, I need to talk to him. I’ve just checked up on the rental board and the guidelines are the same as other years. But, I noticed that he’s raised the rent higher than he’s supposed to.
If he dosen’t listen then I’ll need to go through the board.. I don’t know if it’s worth it.. By the sounds of it, it’ll cost $45 just to file a complaint.
I need to talk to my neighbor first. See what she says. She is the one to talk to when you have problems for sure.
February 4, 2008 at 4:20 am #660493Ah, Romeodanny, I’m sorry to hear about your job and now your rent 🙁 I hope you get the new job which will hopefully relieve some of the pressure on you right now! We are here for you!
