Frodo is has been handed over to a trainer for the time being.

I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make it seem that Frodo died… I just really miss him!
He’s with a trainer right now who is teaching him some “manners”.
He’s a good boy, but he drops his “thing” when at the shows. He gets docked points for it and I don’t know how to get his mind off of “it” π³ π
Sadly, there are people who abuse their stallions’ “things” when they drop. I’ve seen people whip it, kick it, spray it with chemicals π―
I refused to abuse him like that but found a trainer who wouldn’t abuse it either. I’d rather take second than to punish him for being what he is…
Imagine a teenage boy in a room full of naked cheerleaders… Near impossible to keep focused πJune 28, 2008 at 7:31 am #718259Sorry to hear about the colt, but glad that the other ones are alright. Hang in there.

I do send my deepest condolances for your loss though. I’m glad Frodo is still “a healthy boy!” though. Even if he misbehaves a bit.

June 30, 2008 at 11:49 am #718262I’m very sorry about the lost colt, Phoenix. π But, like everyone else said… you’ve still got Frodo and Fortune in your life. So that is something to be happy and thankful for. π

Any ideas what techinques the trainer is using for this? Verra curious.
I’m at the opposite end of the spectrum, I most certainly do not go digging for things. I find that tactic to be extremely intrusive! I wait for things to relax during grooming sessions and then I try to take care of business as quickly and delicately as possible. Gads, it had been years since I owned a male horse. It was a part of the job that I did not miss one iota.

July 4, 2008 at 2:44 am #718265Sorry about the colt, but that’s what the forums for, right?
I liked the analogy about the cheerleaders, and…
We all know that when my childhood dog Pixie dies (she’s 14 and my parents have almost had her euthanized twice already she was in so much pain) that I will be bawling like a little girl on here too. So that’s what this forum is for. Support and condolences.
