So Koda is still sick for no discernible reason.
However my poor Hilel’s eye was inflamed and gunky on Wed evening so I took her to the vet. The vet referred me to an eye specialist. We saw the specialist last night. The eye is toast. She’s had a cataract in that eye for a while, but the cataract has caused glaucoma and the eye is inflamed and needs to be removed. So in two weeks my baby’s gonna be a pirate dog.
Ever had a year where you just can’t catch a break? And it’s only March. :((

March 20, 2011 at 7:46 pm #840240I’m sorry to hear about Hilel’s eye. Hopefully the surgery goes well and she heals up well.
And I hope Koda gets well soon, or that you at least find out why he’s sick.
And bad things do seem to come all at the same time, don’t they. *hugs*
March 20, 2011 at 8:25 pm #840244Poor puppy, at least it won’t hurt her anymore.
March 21, 2011 at 8:06 pm #840322I know the feeling. There are times when I feel if it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all. I hope your will feel better–I rather see one of my babies lose an eye than their life. Sucks but things happen. I hope things get better for you for the rest of the year.
March 27, 2011 at 5:01 pm #840235Sorry to hear about Hilel’s eye trouble. I once had a chow that developed glaucoma in one eye and it had to be removed because of the constant pain it was causing her. The vets put an artificial eye in because that dog was so fussy about her looks I knew she would know something was wrong. I picked her up 3 days later and she bounced out like nothing had happened to her.

Lel had surgery today. She came through it with flying colors…except the vet noticed a tumor in her mouth. He said 98% of them are benign but it will need to come out. So as soon as I get her healed up she has to have more surgery. :(( He couldn’t get it this time because it would be too much blood loss, and bleeding out was not an attractive option as far as I am concerned.
