I know, she’s SUPPOSED to be red and white, but mixing the red and white and then blending it = pink basically 🙄

Ah, so you were going for a sort of “peppermint” color scheme right?

Sometimes it helps to base coat everything black. It keeps the red ‘truer’; not pink. Even so, it’s lovely!

Not so much. Truth be told, I wanted a metallic reddish orange and snowy white for a metallic reddish copper scheme I wanted for a snow leopard layout that I’ve had in my head for months…. but yea…. not going to go forward with it in this one because it’s not working like I intended. So now I have a new idea for this guy instead of repainting him entirely.

I just got some griffins so I will try again on the next one… with a more orange copper color. :yes: This red was just not the right choice for what I was going for, but I think it will work out in the end for my other idea.

I wouldn’t want to base coat this guy black though, painting white on top of black is a nightmare.

The copper griffin should turn out pretty sharp if you can execute the color scheme the way you want to. I guess we’ll just have to stay tuned to see what happens to the pink one. You did a magnificent job of blending the colors though; if you hadn’t revealed the resulting pink color as unintentional I would never have guessed. 🙂
