There will be a new color for dragons in the store!
Photos that Gina posted yesterday (August 6) on the “Windstone Editions Fan Club (Official)” Facebook page.
Gina says, “Sneak peak of the newest family color coming to the store! Atlantis is coming soon!”From the comments :
Comment – “Out of curiosity how are these different than the test paints?”
Gina’s reply – “the test paints had copper detailing except on the wings, these will be all gold pen. The pewters will be gold plated instead of painted copper. The TPs also had three copper colors on the wings, these have two. The teal colors are going to be slightly different as well since I had to mix new colors to find a recipe. I think that’s it, they’ll be close cousins 😄”Comment – “Are there going to be kirins, cats, unicorns, or Pegasus in this color?!”
Gina’s reply – “not saying no to anything, but just dragons for now”August 7, 2025 at 11:22 am #1695984August 7, 2025 at 1:08 pm #1695990Another comment and reply from Facebook:
Comment – “Well this is exciting news but it came at the worst possible time. Hopefully it sticks around for a while. Is this a new production color or a one and done limited run?”
Gina’s reply – “they’ll join the ranks of brimstone, blue morpho, pastel rainbow etc as limited production. If the first batch sells out and the waitlist fills up, we’ll paint more ❤️”August 7, 2025 at 2:57 pm #1695995An observation – they look more “teal” colored in person then they do in these photos.

Someone also asked this on the Facebook page.
Gina’s reply – “we’re going to do the same thing we did with the Elvens, a batch of numbered (20) prototype old warriors will go on eBay (one a day) and in the future we’ll paint the production OWs”August 16, 2025 at 12:24 pm #1696146Photos posted today (August 16) on the “Windstone Editions” Facebook page.
Melody says, “First test paint of the ‘dragonfeathers’ Paint-yer-own! … I like to use a sandy color of paint on the test paints, because it shows defects well! I still need to refine this guy a little bit, some crumbs and messy scales still need work, but he’s nearly ready for production.”
From the comments :
Comment – “maybe it will be ready for the fall pyo swap!”
Melody’s reply – “Maybe! I hope so, but it takes a while to get things into production. There are still a lot of steps!”Comment – “What are the weight and dimensions on this guy?”
Melody’s reply – “I’ll measure one and get back.to you! I don’t have one in front if me at the moment…but he’s a little smaller than the PYO Keeper dragon.”August 16, 2025 at 2:15 pm #1696150Lovely beast. I look forward to painting one.
August 20, 2025 at 4:35 am #1696208August 20, 2025 at 4:14 pm #1696212Though I’m not a pink fan, these are beautiful! Love the ivory horns and the antiquing on some of these is *chef’s kiss*. This is a scheme where the blue eyes really work too, instead of just being there. Contrasting but not too much to complement.
August 29, 2025 at 1:11 pm #1696407Photo from deviantArt thatt Melody posted on August 25.
Melody says, ” My messy workbench with three of the Paint-Your-Own dragons together to show their relative sizes. ‘Dragonfeathers’ in the middle, is the newest. These are cast gypsum reproductions of my original sculptures produced by Windstone Editions. We sell these unpainted for you to customize!”
August 29, 2025 at 1:43 pm #1696411Melody also posted this photo on the “Windstone Editions” Facebook page.
From the comments:
Comment – “When is dragon feathers available”
Melody’s reply – “He is having molds made on him now. It will be awhile before we have production molds, then we will need to cast them! I anticipate that it will be a month or two? I never know for sure.”Melody’s response to another person asking a similar question – “He is having the final molds made on him now so … getting there! -but I don’t know exactly how long it will be. There are still a few more steps between the finished sculpt and production molds”
