Eagerly awaiting emerald, though I know it will be a long time.January 29, 2025 at 5:22 pm #1691148Information posted today (January 29) on the “Windstone Editions” Facebook page – update on casting Emperors.
Melody said – Here’s an update on the continuing saga about the Emperor dragons.
We haven’t been producing the Emps for a while now because the “master” we have been making the molds from has become too warped to use. The “master” was cast in a filled epoxy resin. Resin is a very tough material but, as it turns out, isn’t impervious to age. After 34 years of use… it has shrunk. The rubber molds made on it are unusable.
The Emperor needed a total upgrade. I re-sculpted his wings so that they are now less likely to distort, re-detailed many of his scales, and re-sculpted a warped eyelid. Now Marco, our mold maker, will need to create all new molds for this new “master”.
Then we should be able to cast Emps again! 👍🍀January 30, 2025 at 10:31 am #1691158Thank you for sharing this!

Photo posted by Melody today (February 3) on the “Windstone Editions” Facebook page. (And yes, the unfinished female flion is in the background behind the ponycorns).
Melody said, “I’m working on this standing ponycorn.
The clay original is in the background.
He has been reproduced in Gypsum and is now in the detailing stage. I’ve brushed him with tea to see the details more easily. English Breakfast works best.👠🦄🦑🐓🍳🥌☕”February 3, 2025 at 6:50 pm #1691263He’s very elegant!
