Hi Melody…I hope I am not repeating these questions.

I was wondering how you came up with the name: Windstone Editions.

Also I was wondering what happens if someone uses it as a screen name or something like that. Would that be considered a copyright infringment?

Actually, this topic did come up before, and was discussed in this thread.

Aw, sweet. I wonder what the answer to my second question will be tho. Thanks Mimi

You’re welcome. And I’m curious about the answer to the 2nd question too…

I’d ask John about the second question. I have a feeling Melody wouldn’t be able to give as complete an answer as John.

      Hee hee-Piddle Stone 😆

Are you asking because of the Windstoneeditionscreations seller on Ebay?

        #528224

Yes, that is one of the reasons I am asking. It is very confusing to me. I saw a auction today and I thought it was from Windstone but then I read it again.

Is that auction even permissible? She directly copied the BEP coloring and compares the little PYO dragon to the Secret Keeper. Seems to me that’s borderlining copyright infringement at the very least.
Plus, that person must be some sort of lurk – she’s calling the PYO a “Mini Keeper.” Nobody except forum users would know of the Keeper name for the big PYO dragon.

But that isnt the keeper PYO it is the little PYO, they called it the little keeper because they copied the paint job.

thought I would add a link for those who have not seen it

True – maybe they don’t know about the real Keeper PYO. Still, the paint job is the main infringement. Thanks for adding the link, ruff.

The auction does say that they painted it a little different as to not infringe, but they do use pics of the Secret Keeper. I still think that Melody and John should look and determin, should we e-mail it to them?

I also think their eBay name is too close to Melody’s. Their auction description is very wordy and I don’t think everyone will bother to read it. I think the seller is deliberately trading off of Melody’s hard work. It’s a shame, too, because I think the dragon is quite lovely and would sell without them stooping so low. As it stands, I will boycott their auctions. Who’s going to email John?

I put in a bid. I think the paint job is awesome. Im not sure about infringement… Windstone will have to answer that, but now it cant be changed, only pulled.
