Hi Melody…I hope I am not repeating these questions.
I was wondering how you came up with the name: Windstone Editions.
Also I was wondering what happens if someone uses it as a screen name or something like that. Would that be considered a copyright infringment?
January 14, 2007 at 10:39 pm #528219Actually, this topic did come up before, and was discussed in this thread.
January 14, 2007 at 11:21 pm #528220Aw, sweet. I wonder what the answer to my second question will be tho. Thanks Mimi
January 14, 2007 at 11:33 pm #528221You’re welcome. And I’m curious about the answer to the 2nd question too…
January 15, 2007 at 7:40 am #528222I’d ask John about the second question. I have a feeling Melody wouldn’t be able to give as complete an answer as John.
Hee hee-Piddle Stone 😆
January 15, 2007 at 10:20 am #528223Are you asking because of the Windstoneeditionscreations seller on Ebay?
January 21, 2007 at 5:57 am #528224Yes, that is one of the reasons I am asking. It is very confusing to me. I saw a auction today and I thought it was from Windstone but then I read it again.
January 21, 2007 at 6:05 am #528225Is that auction even permissible? She directly copied the BEP coloring and compares the little PYO dragon to the Secret Keeper. Seems to me that’s borderlining copyright infringement at the very least.
Plus, that person must be some sort of lurk – she’s calling the PYO a “Mini Keeper.” Nobody except forum users would know of the Keeper name for the big PYO dragon.January 21, 2007 at 8:00 am #528226Greater Basilisk wrote:Is that auction even permissible? thought I would add a link for those who have not seen it
January 21, 2007 at 9:45 am #528228True – maybe they don’t know about the real Keeper PYO. Still, the paint job is the main infringement. Thanks for adding the link, ruff.
January 21, 2007 at 10:09 am #528229The auction does say that they painted it a little different as to not infringe, but they do use pics of the Secret Keeper. I still think that Melody and John should look and determin, should we e-mail it to them?
January 21, 2007 at 10:22 am #528230I also think their eBay name is too close to Melody’s. Their auction description is very wordy and I don’t think everyone will bother to read it. I think the seller is deliberately trading off of Melody’s hard work. It’s a shame, too, because I think the dragon is quite lovely and would sell without them stooping so low. As it stands, I will boycott their auctions. Who’s going to email John?
January 21, 2007 at 11:35 am #528231I put in a bid. I think the paint job is awesome. Im not sure about infringement… Windstone will have to answer that, but now it cant be changed, only pulled.
