Okay, I’m having one of those little red ‘x’ moments…I can’t see your pic. What did you buy? 😕
July 24, 2007 at 11:58 am #598659Oh, sorry. It’s a bowl of Fenton glass, with the Carnival glass coloring. It’s got wavy edges and a grape deisgn at the bottom. Here’s the link on the store’s website:
Glass bowlJuly 24, 2007 at 1:01 pm #598660Very pretty and elegant!!! Thanks! 😉
July 24, 2007 at 5:03 pm #598661OooOOoo! Nice purchase GB. I love carnival glass! It’s a shame they don’t photograph better, but they are stunning in person. Anyway, congrats! 😀 Any reason you chose that piece? I’m just curious…
July 25, 2007 at 3:17 am #598662It just called to me, like certain Windstones do…
I think I loved the bright colors, the flowing edges, and the grape theme. The chinaware that Mom’s been buying me for my own home in the future has a grape theme.
And here’s a better pic that I took in this morning’s sun:
July 25, 2007 at 9:41 pm #598663Wow!!!! It’s much prettier even in this pic!!!! 😯
July 25, 2007 at 11:59 pm #598664Thanks! Yesterday in Galveston I spent again – just a little. Here’s a shell with the Lord’s Prayer on it:
and an alligator head. I think it’s a gator. Or is it a croc? Anatomical drawing reference, either way.
July 26, 2007 at 12:21 am #598665Kind of hard to tell if it’s a crocodile or an alligator. I did a seach on how to tell the difference and found this Web siteAlligators and Crocodiles: What’s the Difference?. Maybe it will help you.
July 26, 2007 at 12:22 am #598666Looks like a gator to me. A croc has a more pointed snout. We have lots of gators around here. 😉
July 26, 2007 at 3:34 am #598667Thank you, Pegasi. That did help. I believe it’s a gator. It has grooves in its gums for the lower teeth.
July 26, 2007 at 2:03 pm #598668Oh that plate looks like dichroic glass!
Galveston is okay, but I found it to be kinda dirty and smelly. The Pasadena TX chemical plants pollute it (or at least, used to). If you get a chance while you’re down there, the drive to Padre Island is a bit long but worth it if you like nice beaches. 🙂

July 26, 2007 at 7:03 pm #598670Galveston was a little smelly, but I still enjoyed it. Aside from having too many Mexicans around. And I was disgusted to see that even some of the advertising is in Spanish.
I’ll run Padre Island by Wolfen’s family. On Monday we’re going to Corpus Christi.July 26, 2007 at 7:46 pm #598671Greater Basilisk wrote:Galveston was a little smelly, but I still enjoyed it. It’s usually a much more natural beach than Galveston, and the times we went there was no one else around, very peaceful.
