That is me to Ski. I can’t get to the post office very often and the online calculator is really off sometimes, so I guess based on past shipping amounts. Sometimes I lose money, sometimes I get extra…I never know. Like recently I sold a lot of 13 pairs of jeans. I said in the auction it would be 15 bucks to ship. I think it came to like 13 but I paid for tracking…and a box and gas and whatnot. So no…i don’t plan on worring about it. I never say in my auctions that I charge exact. I just guesstimate!

One time I quoted $12 shipping to the UK for a Ki rin, and it was $25!!! I totally lost money on that one. Its a craps shoot some times. I want to get on Ebays live help when I am listing, but I hate waiting the 11 minutes for an agent. 😆 🙄

I charge for the packing materials which includes bubblewrap and biodegradable peanuts and the box/mailer itself, it’s usually about $5.

Every time I get shipped stuff I save all the bubble wrap and stuff to reuse. I’ve got 5 boxes of peanuts in my workshop….not to mention bubble paper, newspaper and boxes. It saves me a chunk of $$.

I know some people have definite feelings about this. Personally, I don’t mind being charged $5-10 more if it’s stated upfront, or if I ask for extra packaging, then I offer to add some $$, if the original shipping prices were very reasonable.

On the flip side, I’m an overly picky shipper. If I have the packaging material, then I won’t charge. The only reason I would condsider it, if the item took a long time to package properly (but then I would have figured that and added it to the asking price to start with). The only other reason I would consider it if I had to purchase new packing material for the item.

As a buyer I was burned big time by http://www.noblecollection.com/.They charged something like $15-20 for shipping for a broach I ordered and half of that was a handling charge. It wasn’t like it was carefully packaged or anything. What a rip off. Needless to say I always think twice before ordering anything from them. And the quality of the broach was terrible, but it sure wasn’t reflected in the price of $70. Needless to say it was returned. 👿

          Gee darn, I ramble! Sorry…. 😳

places like that, and other catelogs, tend to bas shipping and handling on the cost, not the size or quantity.

            Yes, very true.

The irony of that name… Noble Collection, and the service is crap.

This is good to know. At one point I was thinking about ordering some LOTR stuff from them, but now I’m glad that I didn’t.

I did get an Evenstar pendant from this place. I think their version is better than Noble Collection’s, and their service was good too.

            I really like those Mimi.
And Noble looks like they have nice items, but then again looks can be deceiving.

Thanks! That website has some nice stuff. I’m going to check later and see if they’ve gotten any new stuff that I want (I haven’t checked it for over a year).

            Apparently! 🙂

I really like the ring with the green stone.

Interesting how opinions can vary. I have several LOTR pieces from the Noble Collection and I like all of them. 😕

I guess that is true also. I have learned that in the forum.
