😮 😮 I was just watching Daily Planet, and apparently some web attack has caused the leak of THOUSANDS of username/password informations for Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, etc.
WTF? Has anyone been able to confirm this? I don’t want my information leaked! But I want to know if it’s a farce or if I should really be worried. Can’t believe everything you see on the tele.
I’m changing my password anyway….. *runs off* Might be a safe idea for other people to do the same… just in case it’s real. I change mine every once in a while anyway, but this makes me wanna change it again… just in case.
October 7, 2009 at 12:04 am #785815What I’ve heard is someone has all the passwords of people who fell for phishing scams. This info was then posted on a forum. So it’s probably best to change passwords for MSN, Hotmail, etc. I know I haven’t fallen for any phishing scam emails but just to be safe I changed my Hotmail password.
Two UK news articles I dug up:
October 7, 2009 at 3:02 am #785816Ah. Last time I fell for a phishing scam… I changed my password. But I changed it again anyway… it twere about time. 😆
Discovery Channel was making it seem like some huge massive hack and that everyone was going to have their computers hacked…. 😆 I was wondering if they were overreacting a bit. They made it seem like it was EVERYONE, not just phishing scam people.
God I hope my mum didn’t get a hold of this… I’ll never get her on messenger or by email ever again… 🙄 She’s a wee bit paranoid…
October 7, 2009 at 4:37 am #785817they really like to over dramatize all that stuff..
best thing to do is don’t open email if you don’t know where it’s from.. and never click on links in emails that you aren’t sure about..
even when it’s someone I know.. and they’ve forwarded something.. if there’s a lot of emails listed in the forward.. I won’t click on any links because it could be a virus or something that will send out and email to everyone in your address book if you open it..
so yeah.. if people send me stuff and never get an answer.. that’s why
October 7, 2009 at 4:48 am #785818Frozen, I’m gonna start spam sending e-mails with nothing in them but random links, K? <3
October 7, 2009 at 4:57 am #785819Thanks for the heads up. I don’t think I’ve ever fell for a phishing scam, but doesn’t hurt to change my passwords. I’ve had the same ones for yahoo and hotmail for years.
