The seller has good feedback; it seems weird to me that he’d all of a sudden try scamming people or taking credit for work he didn’t do himself. I wonder if it is a misunderstanding. I guess I’ll have to wait impatiently to find out.
May 14, 2007 at 3:36 am #575178That is strange. I was wondering for a moment if maybe it was a second name of Water’s, like tatt2d has two E-Bay names, but of course Water wouldn’t want to scam anybody so that doesn’t make sense.
May 14, 2007 at 6:52 am #575179This is what she said: I DID PAINT THIS!!! I actually painted three of them…sorry for the misunderstanding on your part, Believe it or not there is more than one person who can paint.
Then I wrote her back saying something to the effect of: I didnt say you couldnt paint, only that that is not your pic… then she wrote this: Is it any of your business what pic I’m using ? just so you know, I took the pic out at my Dad’s house, But to make YOU happy, I will replace the pic, I am in no way stealing anything, I dont appreciate you accusing me.
Then I just resorted to name calling. I called her a twit and said that it was not her pic and I knew where she got it and so did everyone else. I also said it was sad that she was supposed to be an artist but was using someone elses pic. I am glad she pulled it down to make ME happy and not for some sense of wrong-doing. 🙄
May 14, 2007 at 6:58 am #575180Well now, does this mean we can now barrade her with, “No need to be rude or insult a member of the windstone community, but THERE’S ALOT OF US! And we don’t appreciate the plagerism.”
May 14, 2007 at 7:02 am #575181I think its illegal for her to copy Water’s color scheme and sell it, in any case. I seem to recall from an earlier discussion that color schemes were automatically protected even if the artist hadn’t filed for a copyright.
May 14, 2007 at 7:14 am #575182If she copied it exactly enough that it couldn’t be told from Watergazer’s picture, then yes! More generally probably not, if it was just somewhat similar, because it’s a natural color scheme to do a wolf in. But if she’d copied it down to the last hair (which she would have to have done for the picture to be a legitimate representation of what the buyer is getting!) then yes, it’s a violation of copyright.
So either she’s deceiving customers, or she’s breaking copyright law. Either way she’s being a twit. (And I’m pretty sure she’s not good enough to copy that well, or she wouldn’t bother, she’d take photos of her own stuff!)

Thats how I feel, too.
May 14, 2007 at 7:24 am #575184Heh. That person is utterly ridiculous. I took the picture at my dads house… sounds like a 12 year old trying not to get caught 🙄 Specially the “why do you care what picture I’m using” comment. Uh, cause you’re stealing and it’s infringement, that’s why.
You should have said something like you’re Water’s friend, THAT’S why you know she painted it and not them.
Ski, you said you reported the listing- Is there anyway to know if Ebay did, or will do anything about it?
It urks me >__>May 14, 2007 at 7:30 am #575185Thanks for the update, Ski. Poor Watergazer, although I guess in some weird way that is a compliment that people keep trying to use her pieces in their auctions.

It urks me >__>No. They never tell you, though if you are watching the item, you can see if it was pulled by Ebay. 🙂

Yeah, I saw that… just wanted to know if they did anything else.
The person can just pull another thing like this if they get away with it 😡
Guess we’ll be watching this seller for awhile now, see what happens! 😮May 14, 2007 at 11:07 am #575188Right now, it says bidding has ended, with 0 bids. Does that mean the seller put a stop to it, or ebay did?
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

She removed the listing. The reason given was because it was either lost or broken. She said she was gonna pull it to put a new pic on there to please me, since I cant seem to mind my own buisness 😛
May 14, 2007 at 1:18 pm #575190I haven’t been on much so I’m a little late, but wow. Definately a twit! I lying twit at that! I wish I had a chance to give her a piece of my mind too. I hope Water appreciates all you guys keeing a sharp eye out like that. I don’t care how good of a supposed artist you are, there is no way she could copy Water’s paint job down to the last hair. Why would you do that anyway? She was just mad she/he was totally caught with their pants down and just made up a story of more lies to cover their butt.
Got a busted Windstone?

Guess we’ll be watching this seller for awhile now, see what happens! 😮Yeah. All eBay would do is pull the listing. Although if they do it too many times and get reported, they may lose their eBay account.
There was one person, Kaleeking, who stole my picture and my words for her own auction. I reported her and eBay pulled her auctions. Then she stole BT’s pictures to list something else. We decided that the term kaleeking now means the stealing of a person’s photo for eBay auctions, since she does it quite regularly.
This incident seems to be a bit beyond kaleeking though. It seems she is trying to steal Water’s design and style as well as her photo. I’m glad she pulled the auction herself though, unlike Kaleeking who wouldn’t do it. I’m interested to see if she relists it the same way, differently, or at all.
