And where does/did it come from? It is a very neat little creature! And until Windstones I have not ever heard of one! 😛
ThanksI didn’t know much about Kirins when I sculpted the first Kirin I did, the baby one. It was a cute calf-like thing, but I had no idea what kind of animal it was! I only realized it was obviously meant to be a Kirin when I set it next to the bottle of Kirin beer I was holding at the time.
“AHA! So that’s what you are!!”
… So I added the scales and horn to him, to make it official.
Windstone Kirins don’t look much like “real” Kirins, because I only used some of the characteristics I found described for them. For example, I had no idea what color Kirins were supposed to be, so ours ended up being brown and white. I learn more about them all the time. The real ones vary allot in appearance! Some are almost indistinguishable from oriental dragons, some are fat, furry and foo-dog-like, some have wings, some have more than one horn, and they may have pronged horns. The other strange story about my first Kirin sculpture: The sudden appearance of a Kirin is a very good omen, and is said to herald the birth of a boy child.. Soon after the Kirin sculpture appeared, I had a boy!
So be cautious with kirins.October 10, 2007 at 1:51 am #624665Melody wrote:Serenity wrote:And where does/did it come from? It is a very neat little creature! And until Windstones I have not ever heard of one! 😛
