What’s a typical day for you? At work? At home? Hobbies?

May 4, 2009 at 10:59 pm #763705lol thanks, 2H. 😛
On a typical day, I mostly sleep, play on the internet, do some light cleaning and then go to work. I have 10 cats and 14 birds, so something always needs to be cleaned! They also all need their share of attention, but that’s the enjoyable part. I spend some time with my husband and son, too. 😉
On my days off we go out on the bike if the weather is nice. Days off are also for deep cleaning, shopping, visiting family, etc.
My hobbies are collecting (Windstones, carnival glass and other glass, Zuni fetishes, casino chips, cat artwork of all types and books. I love to read! I don’t watch much tv or listen to music these days. I work in a very noisy environment and I like peace and quite when I’m home. 😈
May 5, 2009 at 12:15 am #763706When you’re out on the bike, is there somewhere special you like to go or do you ride just for the fun of being out on the open road? (I was reluctant to say “open” since few roads are these days).
May 5, 2009 at 2:37 pm #763707Actually, in south central and western Jersey there are lots of wide open roads. Some go through forest, some through the cranberry bogs and some through farmland. We hit some busy roads getting to them, but once you’re off the beaten path, it’s nice riding. There are farm markets to visit and festivals to attend, bike runs to participate in and lots of bars and restaurants to stop at and grab something to eat. You can buy produce, crafts, etc., but you are limited by the size of your saddlebags. There are lots of yard sales and flea markets during the summer, too. My biggest fear is finding an OW or other big guy at one and having to figure out how to get it home safely. 😀
There are quite a few biker bar/restaurants within nice riding distance of each other. I say biker bars, because bikers are welcome. It’s not like in the movies, where there are always fights and people being thrown over the pool tables. lol Once you’ve been out there for a season or two, you start to recognize everybody. This one is friends with that one and soon no matter where you go, there’s somebody to hang out with. Lots of the talk is about bikes and gear, but we also end up learning about each other’s kids, grandkids, relationships, pets, work or lack there-of, vacations, etc. It’s like a big extended family in some ways. Sure, some people don’t like each other, but they tend to stay away from each other and keep it peaceful. It’s really a whole lot of fun!
Probably more than you wanted to know…. 😳 😀
May 5, 2009 at 9:39 pm #763708What’s the farthest you’ve gone on a bike trip?
May 6, 2009 at 7:39 pm #763709Delmarva Bike Week. It’s held in Ocean City, MD, but we also hit spots in Delaware and Virginia including Chincoteague.
May 6, 2009 at 9:48 pm #763710Any trips planned for this summer?
May 7, 2009 at 5:49 am #763711Dude, lamorte, I wanna come visit you. 😀
May 7, 2009 at 8:59 pm #763712GB, you would leave us in the dust with that Buell! 😆 Maybe if you get back to the states, we can rent you a cruiser. 😉
No definite plans, star, except for our usual Sunday trips. I’m sure we’ll do a couple of charity runs. We might hit Delmarva again, depending on my husband’s job situation.
May 7, 2009 at 9:45 pm #763713We’re not traveling too far this summer either. We want to take a big trip out West sometime, but not until the economy is better. I don’t feel comfortable investing that much into a trip right now.
May 8, 2009 at 11:27 pm #763714Where do you want to go out west?
