Well,
I cleaned up after dinner and Chupacabra had a nap! Must be nice!
November 23, 2007 at 2:43 am #493404November 23, 2007 at 3:30 am #638831Cute cat. Love her colors!
We ate dinner, then watched our family friend Rudy get carted off in an ambulance, which kinda dampened the occassion a bit. We all then ate some desert then went home. Only reason we had desert was because everyone had brought so many deserts that if we hadn’t, my sister-in-law’s parents would have tried to eat them, and since her stepmom is diabetic, not a good idea.
Rudy is going to be okay, but he may end up in an assisted home after this, my sis-in-law’s sister has been having him live with her and her family, but it is getting harder and harder to take care of her 4 kids and Rudy too. He just has too many problems, and needs more care than they can provide.
Right now we’re not even sure if anything was really going on with him, he cries wolf alot, so he could be faking. We’ll see though, he seemed like he wasn’t feeling too good though, so this time he could really be ill, most of the folks who deal with him daily though didn’t seem too worried though. It was kinda like, well this happens all the time, no big deal.
I hope he will be okay, and perhaps they can convince him to move into an assisted living situation, he really needs some help with cleaning up after himself (bathroom) and food prep, etc. We’ll just have to see how things turn out.
After we left Dad and Melody’s place, one of my sis-in-law’s sisters and her family came over to see our house, we bought it last year, but they hadn’t had a chance to see it yet, so since we were only 4 miles from Melody’s it made sense to come by and take a look before they went home. They seemed to think we did pretty good.
I think so, we got 5.14 acres, a big red barn, garage, and large out building, along with a 4 bedroom 2 bath 1800 sq ft house for 37K less than it appraises for. Can’t complain!
Anyway, overall our Thanksgiving was not too bad considering, could have been worse. I would have been happier if Rudy hadn’t had any issues today, but can’t have everything. I expect that tomorrow we’ll call on him and he’ll be fine, not great, but then considering his health, that is just asking too much.
Hope everyone else had a good day.

November 23, 2007 at 6:18 am #638832After we had our Thanksgiving, I cleaned up the kitchen while Mom and Dad and the parents of a befriended family talked over dessert. I didn’t stay up too long. My sore throat from Wednesday took its leave for Thanksgiving, but returned this morning in the company of a bad cold… 😆
November 23, 2007 at 10:40 am #638833Sorry about Rudy and sorry about your cold. 🙁 Chupacabra had the right idea! 😉 I went to work, and it was business as usual…dinner was yummy, though.
November 23, 2007 at 12:04 pm #638834An ambulance always puts a damper on things 😕 Sorry you are not feeling well, GB.
I lay on the couch after I cleaned up. I couldnt do it all because the sink filled up with food scraps and coudnt bring myself to touch it. 😆
After that I watched Night at the Museum and fell asleep after reading my romance. I had pie for breakfast.
November 23, 2007 at 1:25 pm #638835Like everybody else we cleaned up. Than played Monopoly, ate too much dessert
😆 cleaned some more, than got a nice fire going in our newly installed wood stove and rested.November 23, 2007 at 2:26 pm #638836I cleaned up a little bit-but KC’s aunt seemed to think I shouldn’t do much so when I tried to help she made me sit. Then, KC and I drove for 3 hours back home, and we jumped into bed the second we were able to!
I am so glad everyone else had a good Thanksgiving! 😀November 23, 2007 at 3:11 pm #638837I took a nap on my mom’s couch and then drove home for an hour and a half. I tried to get some clothing ready to sell on Ebay, but the photos didn’t turn out, so I have to retake them today. It’s just some clothes (but nice clothes :D), no Windstones, sorry.
The hubby worked on a logo for his business.
Today we’re going to try again to see Beowulf. Then take hubby’s mom to dinner tonight.
November 23, 2007 at 8:51 pm #638838Hope GB gets to feeling better soon
Sorry to hear about Rudy
After dinner I cleaned up the mess stepping over and around Tristen (chow) the whole time. My b/f disappeared into the garage to do some work so he wouldn’t have to help clean up. After that I watched the tape I made that morning of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I knew I wouldn’t have time to watch it all morning. Later I took down the Thanksgiving decorations.
November 24, 2007 at 12:00 am #638839mmm ate lots of dessert after dinner…then went to bed early because I had work at 5am today…I work in retail..it was INSANE lol work work work work work but the time went by fast being so busy. And I bought myself a pretty pendant 😀
November 24, 2007 at 1:27 am #638840Update on Rudy: He had fluid built up in his lungs, he has congestive heart failure, and other complications, and requires dialysis. They had to do dialysis yesterday, which means he may need it 3 times a week now, versus twice. Anyway, it is just a matter of time, we’re losing him slowly one day at a time.
It’s a bit depressing, but considering his health, we can’t be too surprised. This might just be his last Xmas. Sad thing is he is only 59, but he’s had diabetes for years and ignored it up until about 3 years ago, and his body is paying for it now.
Anyway, sorry to have no good news about that.

November 24, 2007 at 4:42 am #638841GB hope you’re feeling better. Kyrin I’m sorry for all the sad news about Rudy.
After Thanksgiving dinner and clean up, we all sat and chatted for a while. We don’t all get together except at Thanksgiving. After dessert, we watched The Incredibles on TV.
November 25, 2007 at 3:55 am #638842Sorry to hear about Rudy Kyrin.
After a wonderful dinner, I finished a pyo dragon I’d been working on for a while 😀 (I’ll post pics sometime this week). I also made my final plans for the next morning’s pre-dawn shopping/hunt 😈
November 25, 2007 at 6:02 am #638843Well, I was still trying to eat after thanksgiving dinner, I have chronic pancreatitis, and my body doesn’t digest food at all, so I was desperatly trying to eat even a little of my mother’s fabulous dinner… think baked clams, stuffed mushrooms, deep fried turkey, and sweet potatoes with that crunchtacular marshmellow goo on top…just to name some. I ended up putting my mostly untouched plate in the microwave to try and eat later. My husband and I cleaned up for my Dad, who wasn’t feeling well, (bad shoulder). Then our dear friend Foot (actually his nickname, he wears a size 17 shoe, he’s like 6’7″) came over to play Phase Ten, anybody ever play that one? and we had great time, and I picked at the rest of my dinner, so Yay for ME! I ddin’t get sick or hospitalized this year!!!!
