HOUSE, HOUSE, and more HOUSE. I adore Hugh Laurie. And also there’s a really good show called “Supernatural”. I also tend to like some CSI shows, they’re fascinating.
June 1, 2010 at 2:27 am #816389Let’s see: House, Bones, Cold Case Amazing Race, Crimminal Minds, So You Think You Can Dance?, Ace of Cakes, Avatar: The Last Airbender (the ENDING!!! 😮 )….there’s more and its not much, but if I like something I LOVE IT!!!!
June 1, 2010 at 2:46 am #816390I love Lost, and now that it ended, I’ll probably go back and rewatch the series from beginning on DVD. I also love:
Comedies:
The Office, 30 Rock, Modern Family, Castle, Pysch, It’s Always Sunny in PhillyDramas:
The Closer, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking BadReality:
Celebrity Apprentice, Project RunwayVariety:
John Steward -Daily Show, Conan O’BrienI’m sure I’m missing a few =) I rely on the internet for TV viewing (no cable), so premium cable channel shows (Dexter, True Blood, The Pacific, etc.) aren’t an option because I’m not aware of any legal place to watch them on the web. Thankfully just about everything else is offered.
June 1, 2010 at 3:40 am #816391Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (anime)
Bleach (anime)
Hoarders
Clean House
House Hunters…that’s about it. o.o *doesn’t watch much TV any more*
June 1, 2010 at 8:43 pm #816392My mother is addicted to Clean House and Hoarders — it must make her feel organized. 😆 My whole family watches a lot of news as well. I browse so many channels: Animal Planet, Science Channel, Food Network, National Geographic, IFC, Sundance, HBO, Thirteen, Discovery, TLC, etc. Though I use Netflix, I still enjoy scouring the movie channels at night to try to find something interesting. I really love the Daily Show and the Colbert Report on Comedy Central. Nurse Jackie on Showtime is excellent; I’m starting to get into The United States of Tara a little bit. I’ll be sure to post more shows when I think of them. I might rent Mad Men on Netflix, I’ve heard it’s really good. Has anyone here seen it? Oh, and a lot of people create fanfiction based on TV shows such as Buffy, House, or CSI. If you’ve ever read or written fanfiction, be sure to post about in my “Fanfiction!” thread under “General Writing Discussion.” I would love to hear from you. 🙂
June 1, 2010 at 11:27 pm #816393I loved Supernatural but now I’m so far behind that I’ll have to get the DVD’s to watch and catch up. We were home for the marathon run of the last season of Avatar: The Last Airbender, so glad I caught it so I can understand what’s going on when we watch the movie. 😀
June 2, 2010 at 9:10 am #816394I don’t have a TV and therefore can’t say I watch anything. Nor do I miss it; I much prefer books. But there’s a very nice British family that I babysit for, and I love it when they ask me to come because Dr. Who is always on the program. 😀
June 3, 2010 at 12:09 am #816395HOUSE! And Fringe, and Bones. I don’t ever catch them on TV, I’m either working or someone else has control (usually mom) But I watch them when I can online.
Hugh Laurie….. *drools*
June 3, 2010 at 12:41 am #816396I don’t have TV now my cable got canceled and I don’t havethe credit for Uverse even though I work for at&t
I’m currently watching M*A*S*H on DVD that I got from a gift exchang in January. I’m finishing season 9 out of 11
I WILL eventually own the entire I Love Lucy Series too she is one of my all time favorites, I never really watched Carol Burnett but I’m sure I would LOVE those too
When I had TV and was able to watch I LOVED American Idol and So You Think You Can DanceJune 3, 2010 at 3:18 am #816397DragonCat wrote:Avatar: The Last Airbender (the ENDING!!!)
Avatar’s two hour finale has got to be the best series wrap-up I have ever seen, bar-none. Even if it is a cartoon. Every piece of the story receives the appropriate treatment, right down to the music.
I don’t have a whole lot of current prime time TV favorites but I own on DVD:
Knight Rider (old skool, y’all)
Inuyasha (the first four anyway, will expand collection when able – looking forward to the last chapter that’s online for viewing to come out in English on DVD)
Transformers (the 1984 version, old skool too, y’all)and right now I watch Mythbusters fairly regularly, but it’s the only show currently on that I have the DVR set for
I’ll also catch Dirty Jobs and Ghost Hunters for amusement factor when it doesn’t interfere with Mythbusters.June 4, 2010 at 2:53 am #816398Rusti wrote:Avatar’s two hour finale has got to be the best series wrap-up I have ever seen, bar-none. Do you mean the original Japanese version? I don’t watch that much anime, so I haven’t seen The Last Airbender, but from what anime I have watched, I know that a poor quality dub can really ruin it for me. For instance, I love Hayao Miyazaki’s film My Neighbor Totoro, but I’ll only watch either the Japanese version or the English dub by Streamline. (Not Disney) I felt that the Streamline dub was more faithful to the style and inflection of the original Japanese readings. How do you guys feel about this stuff?

Avatar only looks like anime, it was created in the US for Nickelodeon, I believe. It was always in English; it’s not a dub as far as I know. I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong.
As for anime, I’m not ‘cultured’ in it enough to truly care, I guess. The only anime I watch is Inuyasha, and I’ve just never bothered to watch it in Japanese because…I don’t speak Japanese and I find that reading subtitles, I tend to miss what’s going on in the animation.

Sorry, 😳 as I said before, I’ve never watched it and know nothing about the show. Perhaps I should check it out, it has been popular enough to spawn a live-action film after all. Thank you for your quick reply. Gosh, I haven’t watched Nickelodeon since I was a kid, though I do own some old Nicktoons on DVD.June 4, 2010 at 4:16 am #816401Rusti wrote:Avatar only looks like anime, it was created in the US for Nickelodeon, I believe. You are quite correct. Avatar is a US production.
I haven’t watched much anime since I graduated from college (no more access to the college anime and manga club). Most of what I watched then was fansubbed, so I prefer subtitled to dubbed, but there are times I will watch the dubbed version simply because I’m multi-tasking so can’t pay enough attention to read the subtitles.
June 4, 2010 at 4:22 am #816402Interesting… By the way, I couldn’t get over how much the Streamline dub of My Neighbor Totoro was able to capture the feel of the original Japanese, especially when it came to the songs. It was something that I’ve only come to appreciate fairly recently upon hearing the Japanese version for the first time. The new Disney dub is entirely different.
