WOW..I have to share this with all of you, I had the strangest day today! So I get home from work and there is a car parked in front of my house that I had never seen before and the back end of the car is in the way of my drive way, oh I guess i should say that the car was parked on the street…..so I try to pull in and I had to park all weird casue of that car, it kinda upset me cause my original thought was that it was someone parking on my street to go into the clinic around the corner, cause alot of ppl are now parking on my street due to the clinic charging for parking!

Anyway so I get out of my car and start to walk to the front of my house when hubbyand Maks open the doorto greet me and behind them is a women who is hiserically crying. So I am feeling really confused all of a sudden

So this women comes out of my house and bolts for me with her arms held out wanting to hug me….I had no idea what to think  , so i gave her a hug and she is crying and mumbeling something, which i have no idea what it is cause is is crying!

So …….we end up going back into the house and all I understand her saying is how sorry she is… but I still can’t figure out why..

And so finally I find out that she had hit hubbys car in our driveway trying to turn around, and I guess originally when that happened she drove off but our neighbour saw the whole thing and wrote down her license plate while she was driving off, then he came to Tim and told him what had happened. Tim called the police to report it and right after he did that she showed back up appologizing for what she had done and she felt so bad about the whole thing that she had to come back…..she explained to us that her husband of 36 year rescently passed away and she had been going through a really hard time. She didn’t want to go through insurance and told us that she would be happy to pay for all of the damages.

I feel so bad for this women, she has no family here or any supports and I just can’t get over the whole thing, it took me hours to calm her down and I am hoping that she is OK!

I’m glad it worked out. And I’m asking fo no particular reason except curiosity, how much damage was there to the car? And did the police ever end up showing up while working it out amongst yourselves?

Wow, that’s a strange occurence. Good for the lady that she came back, though, and it was nice of you to spend time with her.

That really is strange!! I’m glad she had the courage to come back. Poor thing; I hope her life gets better soon.

Wow that’s strange. I hope she’s okay… and am kinda hoping that she wasn’t making it up so as not to go through insurance. Was the damage to the car extensive? Or just minor?

Wow! Almost sounds like a weird dream…good that she came back though. From what she has just went through, it is understable why she acted like she did–got scared and mind just wasn’t in tune with what was going on so she fled. I’m glad she came back–hopefully the damage to your hubby’s car isn’t too bad.

The whole situation must have felt very surreal for you, but fortunately no one was hurt.

I do hope that the damage wasn’t too bad though. Clearly that woman’s mind was elsewhere (and understandably so) and she was in a bad state — poor thing. 🙁

Oh strange hope eveythings ok. That was my thought, hope it wasn’t a story. Something like this happened to a friend of mine. A lady hit her car and cried and gave this whole story about her kids being sick and her husband had just died. Turns out the lady didn’t even have kids and was unmarried and made the whole story up because she had no insurance!

The damage on the car was minor…hubby was able to re-attached the back bumper himself cause it was kind of hanging a little bit and there are some rubber marks on the side of the bumper and some paint missing…. 🙂

The police didn’t show up and we waited for over 6 hours for them so I called them back and the call was still out for an officer to show up but I was tld they were really busy so I cancelled the call…I was told tho thta we have 24 hours to 48 hours to get the report done and we can call them back or there is an office that we can go to in town to fill out the report there if we choose to.

I kinda already thought of the fact that it might have just been a story but I dunno know cause she seemed really distrought and upset, it took me a few hours to calm her down, when I first met her lastnight she was shacking, I guess anything is possible tho!
