My husband has been having a fit saying he wants to go see Body Worlds since its in town (for those of you who don’t know what it is go here http://www.mdsci.org/bodyworlds/index.html)
This was our first big trip out besides going to doctors appointments. It was fun and Alyssa slept thru the whole thing lol. I wanted to take some pictures of the Body World exhibit but they don’t allow cameras 🙁 The only thing we did get pics of was the dino exhibit where Danny kept telling me to put Alyssa in one of the dinosaur footprint casts for a picture. I didn’t think the science center staff would like that plus I didn’t want her sitting in some giant hole so we didn’t get the picture. As far as the Body World exhibit it was really neat. I was surprised they still had the private parts on the humans in the exhibit since everywhere pushes for everything to be G rated. I think my husband liked the lungs they had on display since he never got to see a picture of what his old lungs used to look like. When we where looking at the smokers lung these two women where talking about it. The one wanted to know if you stop smoking will your lung to back to looking like the non-smokers lung. The other lady that was with her said “oh yeah it goes back to normal after you quit” to which the lady said “good I’m gonna go smoke after we leave here”. Danny and I just looked at each other. One part of the exhibit was about human development in utero and I wasn’t sure I wanted to go in there since it was actual dead humans but I did anyway. It was neat to see and we had a good time. Here are some of the pictures we took.
Alyssa in her car seat getting ready to go out.
OMG those are some big dinosaurs!
I had to have a picture with the Inner Harbor in the background. Alyssa was sound asleep.
I thought this was a neat picture.February 25, 2008 at 11:42 pm #494484February 25, 2008 at 11:45 pm #669839Yeah, they had that exhibit at the Ontario Science Center at one point, and I missed it. It looks awesome.
Alyssa’s a darling!

It has to be the most awesome anatomy display mixed with art that I’ve ever seen. This is it’s last week in St Louis and I doubt I’ll get a chance to go back since it ends March 2nd.
If it ever comes back again I’ll definitely be there. The human body is a strange and wonderful thing and I’m glad I had the opportunity to see the exhibit.

February 26, 2008 at 3:32 am #669843Lol when Marc and I were in Montreal this summer it was there and we went to it. I was almost 7 months Pregnant I threatened “Monster” (We didn’t know if we were having a boy or girl) that if it decided not to actually be, that I was calling that dude up and sending it there to be “Plasticized” and put up for display!!! Note I didn’t find out through even the next 2 US what I was having, and had to wait until “it” was born to know!! I don’t know if it would be worse Before(Ie TTC), during or after Baby is born to go see that. But I’ve been wanting to see it since I heard about it originally, in’99 I think.
February 26, 2008 at 4:14 am #669844February 26, 2008 at 4:36 am #669845I don’t know if that’s this, because theses are all supposed to have been donated by people, mostly by people who signed the papers before they died rather than after. and if I remember (Their “Propaganda”) correctly not even just generally donated to science but directly to this purpose and person specifically. Apparently even one of his best-friends donated his body when he died. And not too many looked Asian. But I could be wrong, and after all what they say at the show may just be to appease the masses that inhumanities were not committed. 😀
February 26, 2008 at 4:44 am #669846That’s funny about the women who were talking about the smoker’s lungs. I heard that they can repair themselves after quite a while of not smoking, but I am not sure if they completely go back to normal or not. I am so glad you had fun!
February 26, 2008 at 5:40 am #669847That’s so cool! And Alyssa is just beautiful! too bad she missed the whole thing! I want to see the BodyWorld exhibit, but not untill after I have a baby, I don’t think I can see that stuff while I’m TTC. I’ve seen pictures of some of the exhibit, the horse and stuff, It’s so cool how they do it! I’m gonna have to come to Maryland, I’m a museum junkie!

Aw, ok. Come to think of it….It could of been about a different exibit, because I don’t know the exact name that was in the show.
February 26, 2008 at 6:00 am #669849Can I put a little bit of “Dark Humour” out there, I tried to keep it in but I just have to share with you what I was thinking when I saw “Chinese Prisoners”
Probably true, ’cause isn’t everything MADE IN CHINA these days?
I know I’m a little off, but so’s most of my family. My Uncle’s warned us NEVER go near “Area 52”, and he won’t say why. 😯
