June 28, 2008 at 1:53 am #718382Hiya!!! 😀
June 28, 2008 at 1:56 am #718383Welcome! tell us about yourself!!! 😀 😀
June 28, 2008 at 3:27 am #718384Thank you all for the warm and swift welcome. 😀
Spent a bit typing this, so if someone posted a specific question before I post that I haven’t answered, I’ll edit it in.Er, about myself.
I’m an artist, can’t hold a candle to Melody’s lovely sculpting/painting skills in plaster/clay, but am fairly respectable in woodworking and metalworking.
I admire the technical skill, natural expression and sheer beauty inherent in Windstone critters.
I’m probably a featherweight collector by Forum standards, having acquired most of my pieces on a budget via Ebay fingers-crossed gambles, and a few through a delightful and beloved store closing its physical location and having a major sale some time ago.
I’ll bore you now by listing ’em. 😉
Peacock Mother, Male, Hatchling, and Fledgling dragons,
Emerald Old Warrior (my steady favorite) and Young Dragon,
White Mother Pegasus and Hatching Pegasus,
White Male Unicorn, Mother, and Young Unicorn,
A blue eyed PYO Griffin waiting for me to get off my tail and do him justice,
And two shattered Guardian Dragon Gargoyles, (thanks to an Ebay incompetent who couldn’t pack a rubber ball safely if his life depended on it). They now rest in a back room waiting for me to gather enough courage and epoxy to reassemble them.
Here’s my leisurely-and-eventual wishlist. I’m in no rush, but it’s what I have my eye on.
Emerald Peacock Emperor Dragon (to kind of bring together the Emerald and Peacock critters)
Gargolingus (because it’s so darn cute in a chew-on-your-toes kind of way)
White Baby Unicorn
PYO Unicorn, Green and Lavender eyed Muse, Dragon and Keeper Dragon.
My favorite types in general are the glorious Old Warrior, the Hatching Pegasus (love the pinfeathers) and all the PYO pieces due to how budget-friendly and naturally interactive they are.
I doubt I’ll be a regular here, but the threads I’ve seen look mellow and friendly, and it seems like a very nice place to lurk and occasionally drop in my two cents. 🙂
June 28, 2008 at 3:38 am #718385Welcome. This is a great place for all fanatics to hang out. And I’d love to see pieces of your own art. We likes our artists here. And if you need the gargoyles fixed up professionally, Kyrin is our resident Windstone doctor, she does excellent work.
June 28, 2008 at 3:41 am #718386Welcome! 😀 Definately post some of your art or a link to your website if you have one, I’d love to see what you do

Yep Kyrin is the one to contact about repairs. If you don’t decide to contact her I would recommend using a white glue (like elmer’s) instead of epoxy as that is what is actually recommended by Windstone to fix breaks. I’m one that can speak from experience with having a piece repaired by her. She does a wonderful job.
June 28, 2008 at 9:24 pm #718391welcome welcome
June 29, 2008 at 12:23 am #718392Thanks guys.
Sounds like I’ll have to pester Kyrin for a few tips. I checked a few threads and her skill is pretty awesome.
Ha! Computer 5, Maplecarver 1!
Tried to get my nice (carved maple) piece on here, but the darn thing’s size wouldn’t behave, even after massive editing. Later, perhaps. So here’s my copper kestrel, with a stainless beak, brass legs, perched on a piece of petrified wood. She’s lifesized.
Sorry the pic’s little, but least it’s manageable that way. Enjoy. 🙂
June 29, 2008 at 1:29 am #718393Wow, that’s incredible!
