What is to understand? They’re adorable cute little sculptures YOU made. I think you underestimate their appeal. Put a few test pieces in a select number of shops and see what happens, you might be surprised.
Put up the brightly colored ones on eBay and I suspect they will go fast, the butternut ones are cute, but it is the colored ones that made me go, “Ooohh, I want one!”
The forum members are just the ones who are gonna know the backstory and be after them the fastest, but they will catch on. Especially if you include the cards and offer the story behind them.
Folks love stories…and the fact that you have built a whole little world for these guys can be a selling point, especially if the offered factory colors involve characters in your story.
Anyway, these are just my ideas on it, but I really think there is a market for these guys, it is just a matter of determining how to market them to the public.
I’m real tempted to find out if my friend Kerry would be willing to take on yet another project, she is a great marketer…but she is so busy and is already the marketing guru for 3 other businesses. But she’s very good. Do you guys still need a marketing manager person?

I personally think the Poads are appreciated most by forum members, as opposed to general ebay. I think Kyrin was mostly asking if you were planning on eventually making Poads in black or with metallic colors for us.
If you are considering selling them on ebay, I suggest observing how well Poads that forum members auction sell. That would give you some idea of their general marketability.
I’d agree with that.
But I think there’s really no downside to selling poads on Ebay. Less than half of the people who have been buyers on the Windstone Ebay auctions are forum members (Windstone has 546 feedbacks and there are ~250 forum members), so selling poads on Ebay would more than double the current pool of potential buyers — even without considering those people who haven’t bought from Windstone before.
I would still like the chance to pre-order. I am not always around for BINs on Ebay. And if you get around to that one in the pic, or that cute little black one witht he purple and blue butt…A six-pack of different colors! W00PEE!!! 😆

I think Melody was talking about listing the poads on Ebay in addition to doing the pre-ordering…
