Hugs xxxSeptember 14, 2007 at 8:46 am #614659Well he had a really bad day yesterday. He started to bleed in his right lung and had to have an emergency chest tube placed back in. They had to give him 3 units of blood because his pressure would not stabalize. While they were trying to sit him up for a chest x-ray he passed out and had a seizure. I’ve spent the whole day and night with him and am typing this from the hospital computer. I hope to have better news in the morning.
September 14, 2007 at 9:32 am #614660I hope this is just a minor set back and not something serious. Im sorry. 🙁
September 14, 2007 at 10:34 am #614661you know we are here for you!! Good luck
September 14, 2007 at 10:41 am #614662I’m just catching up. I hope this is just a temp. set back. I’m praying for you and your husband. (And actually the rest of your family as well.) 🙂
September 14, 2007 at 5:37 pm #614663Dang it! No no no! Bad lung, you are supposed to be grafting into place and healing…not whatever it is you think you’re doing…bad lung!
Be a good lung from now on, so I don’t have to yell at you!
(Being silly in an attempt to boost spirits.)
Darn it, I sure hope this is just a minor setback and that things get better from here. Keep us posted, and hollar if you need us.

September 14, 2007 at 5:49 pm #614664The surgeon came in and said it was a set back but nothing they don’t think can be fixed. He has a pneumothorax on his left side now but its not big and they are going to let it reabsorb on its own so he doesn’t need another chest tube. He is downstairs getting a bronc so I’m on the computer updating people on how he is doing. If he’s not too out of it we are going to get him up and make him walk later.
September 14, 2007 at 6:09 pm #614665Glad to hear the surgeon is optomistic! I hope he continues to improve. Hang in there!
September 14, 2007 at 6:43 pm #614666Hang in there! Still thinking and praying for you three!
September 14, 2007 at 8:25 pm #614667Glad to hear that it can be repaired. Sending more warm fuzzies your way.
September 14, 2007 at 8:35 pm #614668Don’t worry. There can only be so many setbacks. Sooner or later they will have to admit that you guys won, the setbacks lost, happy ending. Period. So hang in there 🙂
September 14, 2007 at 11:18 pm #614669I think setbacks and speed bumps in something concerning this magnitude is to be expected and the norm. Im sure the docs would have prepared you if they thought something would continue to nose dive. If theyre optimistic, Ive found (especially with my dad years ago though I didnt believe it then, retrospect shows me docs were right; talking about 4x bypass) it does in fact work out for the best.
Always in my thoughts in my heart and in my prayers!
