They moved him to the step down unit today. He was able to get some soft food and has to drink thick liquids because he still can’t swallow normally. They said his kidneys are having trouble with all the meds he is on but I don’t know how bad since I wasn’t able to talk to the doctor. Danny said he told him they think they can fix it but I’m a little worked up about it. They have computers on this floor in the waiting room so I’m typing from there. The nurse said I could spend the night if I wanted but I didnt plan on it so I have to go home and feed the cat. I told Danny I will spend the night with him later this week after I get off my night works.
September 11, 2007 at 2:37 am #614627Glad to hear things are progressing. Warm Hugs and Positive thoughts for both of you.
September 11, 2007 at 6:10 am #614628Wonderful, serious *hugs* for both of you. Sending healing thoughts.
September 11, 2007 at 9:14 pm #614629That’s wonderful news I am glad he is doing better. The people on the forum are so wonderful and generous with their prayers and thoughts during hard times I just know it helps to get thru.
September 11, 2007 at 9:25 pm #614630That is wonderful that he got the surgery and he sounds like he is doing much better. Sending warm fuzzies your way.
September 12, 2007 at 11:21 pm #614631I just had to share this picture I took today right before I left him to go to work. He looks so worn out but happy and I haven’t seen him look like this in a long time. He is still having issues with his left foot but his lungs are working just fine. They took out another chest tube today and said the last chest tube may come out tomorrow. If it does they will remove his epidural which might help his foot.
September 12, 2007 at 11:24 pm #614632That is so great to see him smiling. Glad to hear things are moving forward for you! 😀
September 12, 2007 at 11:43 pm #614633Yay!!! Keep the good news coming!!! 😀
September 13, 2007 at 12:36 am #614634I have to say I am looking forward to pictures of him without all the tubes and wires attached to him.
And how come his lovely eyes are closed in almost every pic? Tell him to look at the darn camera! LOL!
Nice to see him smiling and happy though. Soon he will be home, and just imagine…soon there will be no more emergency runs to the hospital, no more everyday worry, soon a more or less normal life. Soon you guys will be able to focus on the baby, what a wonderful thing!
I am so happy for you guys, I can’t wait until he’s over this and the baby is here.

September 13, 2007 at 12:48 am #614635He looks like he should have a lightning bolt scar on his forehead! He looks like HP with stubble.
September 13, 2007 at 12:50 am #614636It seems like more and more good news. I was going to ask you to post a picture here since I also do not have a My Sace account nor do I want one either but you already had. It sounds like he is going to be just fine! Sending more warm fuzzies your way

Eyes open woudl be nice BUT I’m sure that rest is #1 right now and now I’m sure you will have plenty of more open eye photos to share in the futureSeptember 13, 2007 at 2:38 am #614639Congrats! Hope things keep going this way for you both!!!!
September 13, 2007 at 3:02 am #614640I think the flash from the camera bothers his eyes. I said something to him about always closing his eyes but he is on so many drugs I don’t think it registered. I do have this pic of him with his eyes open trying to smile. This was while he was still in the icu right after they took the breathing tube out and he got his shave.
