Oh, okay. I got my days mixed up… I thought he came home yesterday. Well, sounds like he’s more than ready to come home! The drive home after being in the hospital for such a long time is really exciting. It’s like being free! And I know what the back seat of those Mustangs are like. It’s such a pain to get in out of there!
October 4, 2007 at 9:23 pm #614702wishing you good luck that EVERYTHING goes well from here on out
October 5, 2007 at 12:57 am #614703Well he’s finally home! When I was getting him into the house he almost fell getting up on the curb. I was there to catch him so it was no big deal but a couple of hours later he broke down crying. I asked him what was wrong and he said he is so weak and skinny. I don’t think it hit him till he tried to get into the house and realized how hard it really is. He did manage to get up the 15 steps to the bed room rather well. I told him it will take time and he has to remember what he just went thru. I think he does feel alot better to be home though.
October 5, 2007 at 1:03 am #614704I’m happy he’s home. That’s great. I know he’s frustrated right now, but, he’ll get better. Sending hugs.
October 5, 2007 at 1:06 am #614705I’m sure he will be MUCH better now that he is at home and I’m sure seeing his cat and you there will help in his healing. I’m also sure the kitty is happy
October 5, 2007 at 1:15 am #614706OMG the poor cat! My mom made a welcome home sign with balloons on it. I put it in the entryway so when Danny came home he would see it. I didn’t even think the cat has never seen balloons before. I noticed he didn’t eat at all this morning and just figured he was upset that my dad was over the house. Well after Danny got home I couldn’t find the cat anywhere. Finally I found him under the rocking chair in the living room. I thought it was odd that he didn’t come out to see us when we walked in the door and he stayed there for hours after we were home. I was just about to call the vet because I thought something was seriously wrong with him. When I finally pulled him out from under the chair I realized he was afriad of the balloons 🙄 So I put them away where he couldn’t see them and of course he was all over my husband after that.
On a side note I ment to rant about one thing that happened at the hospital today. They gave my husband his first months supply of medication and had him fill his weekly pill box. They make him do it infront of the nurse to prove he knows what he is supposed to take. Since he is on the steroids his hands are not that steady and he ended up spilling half a bottle of meds on the floor. Of course we can’t pick them up and use them so we had to throw them away. Well they told me I have to pay out of pocket to replace the lost pills because neither the insurance company or the hospital will cover the lost pills. So now next week I have to go to the pharmacy and shell out almost $200 for 15 pills. I’m still mad about that.October 5, 2007 at 1:35 am #614707That is HORRIBLE especially after what he just had to go thru. I’m sorry you have to go thru that. Why can’t you jsut do it for now until he gets stronger?? I knew your kitty would LOVE to have him home. I hope things look up soon. I’m sure you and your kitty being close will also help your husband heal faster
October 5, 2007 at 1:42 am #614708That’s awful. I understand that you couldn’t use the pills that were dropped on the floor. But, making you pay for them? That is really not nice.
But, cute story about the cat. I don’t think my cats have ever seen a balloon either. Balloons are not to good to have around cats anyways, alot of cats enjoy chewing on them. I’m happy that the cat and Danny are back together.
October 5, 2007 at 2:04 am #614709Yay! This day finally happened, I knew it would!
Tell Danny to hang in there, he’ll regain the weight he’s lost and his strength and energy, hospitals are not a place to rest or recoup, they bug you way too much, and the food is terrible.
I am so happy for you guys! This is so great, new lungs, new baby, the future is so bright, you guys are gonna need shades!

You may want to contact your insurance company directly and find out if they can’t cover the lost medication before you pay that. Depending on the type of plan you have, it may be covered. Some employers can actually purchase additional benefits called “riders”, to go along with your standard benefits. Most regular plans don’t cover lost or stolen medication, but it’s worth a shot to see.
I’m glad you finally got him home though. I’m sure he feels a lot better to be back in his home with you and kitty. 😀
October 5, 2007 at 3:51 pm #614711I called the insurance company and they will not cover the cost of the meds. Sooooo I filled a complaint with the hospital demanding they pay for the lost pills. If this would have happened at home we could have just picked the pills up and reused them but since it was the dirty hospital floor we couldn’t. I just got the bill for all the copays for a one month supply of his meds. It was $400! I think I’m gonna have to sell some windstones lol.
October 5, 2007 at 3:52 pm #614712What a bummer. As for the pills, you didnt use the 10 second rule? Kids eat stuff off the floor all the time. It doesnt hurt. I really hope you dont have to sell your Windstones, but it sure is nice to know they are there if you ever may need the money. 🙂
October 5, 2007 at 4:02 pm #614713If the next couple of months copays are going to be $400 then I may need to sell a few of them. I have some car parts around the house I can get rid of first. I don’t think I’ll be modding the mustang any time soon so I might as well sell the parts I’ve been keeping. I don’t mind having to get rid of some stuff, its worth it to have my husband back.

Awe, that sucks. Well, hopefully the hospital will cover the cost of the pills. Meds are so expensive!
October 5, 2007 at 5:39 pm #614715I am glad that you husband is finally home, but that really sucks about the pills. And the cat story made me in a better mood.
