Toooo Haard…
😆 😆 It would only be hard if socialists and do-gooders made a habit of frequenting ranges. But then again, if they did, they wouldn’t be socialists and do-gooders anymore.
Star, dragoness, you’re welcome anytime… 😉

June 22, 2007 at 11:55 am #590956You know what, that just gave me an idea. Do you have any idea about construction?
This is going rather off topic and it’s kind of long, but it might interest you.My Grandpa here – Opa – created a humanitarian foundation that gets about 75% of the profit which proceeds from renting out the apartments he builds. (Generous, huh?)
It spends several million dollars a year building schools, hospitals, water wells, production halls, etc. etc., anything that can be built, in third world countries. You said before that after the Army you’d like to do charity work.
Well, this foundation, the Leopold Bachmann Stiftung (I’ll call it LBS for short; no website so I can’t link to it) builds all over the world, from Africa to South American to Haiti to Vietnam. Opa would really like a general supervisor – someone who can go to all these places and make sure the money is invested well, that building is progressing properly on whatever project, and that the people are getting the help they need. This supervisor would travel all over the world. Right now this supervision trips are done by an ex-banker in Opa’s employ, but he’s busy enough without them… Supervising alone is a full time job. This is very spontaneous, but who knows – maybe something could come of it? 😀
June 22, 2007 at 1:11 pm #590957I still have 6 years left in the Army but that totally sounds like fun! I will probably be married with a baby or two in six years, though. 😆
June 22, 2007 at 2:10 pm #590958Oh! I thought that when you left Germany you’d be out. 😆 Oh well. If the LBS keeps growing like it has been, you can probably still travel for it after your kids are grown up.

My sister has a Masters in International Business. This sounds like something she might be interested in. She loves to travel. She has been to Africa to volunteer to teach kids. She hates the job she is in right now, if Ski doesn’t mind and your Grandpa needs someone (don’t want to step on toes)…I can run this by her and give you her info or visa versa.June 22, 2007 at 8:06 pm #590961skigod377 wrote:Snapdragon wrote:Bring me back a souvenier.. one of the engines from the ICE 3 train will do.
