I only have one more winter here, and I actually would like to get to meet you before I leave. Either for lunch, or a snowboard/ski trip or something. Whaddaya think? You like to ski? π
June 20, 2007 at 4:55 am #491588June 20, 2007 at 12:27 pm #590936I outgrew my skis winters ago, but I do snowboard. I’m not great, but I like it. I’d love to have a get-together! November? December? January will start me on real estate management school. It’s an evening thing, but I don’t know how much time the practical part will take up.

Good. I snowboard, too. Stinkin skiiers! Messin up my slopes! π π November or December would be great!
You ready for real estate school?
June 20, 2007 at 12:50 pm #590938Cool! Where shall we go? Flumserberg is awesome.
Dad and my two youngest brothers ski. You should hear us pushing around the blame for the lousy slopes!
Am I ready for real estate school? I suppose so, though I’ve very much enjoyed the past months with no school.
The basic real estate program goes until October; the second, advanced course takes until August 2009. So it’s pretty short, and I’ll get a paper, just in case I ever need to show it for a job. The courses are twice a week on evenings. That gives me plenty of time to do my own stuff.June 20, 2007 at 1:27 pm #590939Sweet! I have yet to decide what I want to do. I am guessing you see yourself dealing with real estate in the future?
Anywhere with snow is fine! I love Switzerland in the winter!!
June 20, 2007 at 1:41 pm #590940Cool! You can stay with us. We have a guest room. And you can bring Justin. He’ll have a blast with my brothers. He does like guns, right? π
Do I see myself in real estate. Yes, I suppose so, though I’m not excited about it. It’s the family business. Somebody should take over when the old guys kick the bucket. (Seriously – Opa’s 74 and won’t quite working until God forces him to.) But I’m not really interested in real estate. Most of the work is done on the computer in an office. I’d have to deal with finicky renters and folks who don’t pay, not to mention far too many Balkanesi and their kind. I would much rather have a job that gives me dirty hands, even if it pays five times less.
I’m pleased with the school schedule, though. It will give me the days to learn something else. When I get back from the States, I’m going to look for somebody who’ll teach me gunsmithing.June 20, 2007 at 2:08 pm #590941Sweet! I get to play with the arsenal! π π
Thats too bad. It would be much better if you enjoyed work… but then I guess it would not be called work. I am trying to find out what I want to do with my life. At least you have some direction till you decide. π
June 20, 2007 at 2:18 pm #590942The arsenal is pellet guns, mind you. But you’re welcome to accompany us to the range, too… π
I don’t really want to complain about my work. This’ll keep me busy for the next two years. It’s, like you said, a direction. And if I end up taking a job like that, I can be assured of excellent pay (= more Windstones). I think it’ll be good for me. I just intend to do something I enjoy along with it.
June 21, 2007 at 6:51 am #590943Pellet guns… that means Justin can play, too. He is really bloodthirsty. π He was playing with dinosaurs one day and had them eating GI Joes. His babysitter had to sit me down and break it to me that my kid was scaring her kids. π
June 21, 2007 at 6:53 am #590944Oh sheesh! π
Anyway – the arsenal that gets played with around the house is pellet guns. But if you want to play with my – real – ones there’s the local range for the assault rifle and several indoor ranges not far away. It’d be fun!June 21, 2007 at 6:57 am #590945Greater Basilisk wrote:Oh sheesh! π

I have been brainwashed by the Army. Ranges are not fun… they are something to be dreaded every year.
June 21, 2007 at 10:03 am #590946π π The only rules in these ranges are to hit the target and not the bystanders. Common sense stuff.
