I wanted to let everyone know that a Semi tractor trailer for the US Postal Service was in an accident this morning on I 10 right outside of New Orleans.
This truck completely burned with all the mail and parcels it was carrying. It was entering New Orleans from the West.
The postal service here let people know to contact them if they don’t get their mail…but said they would not necessarily be able to tell what exactly was on the truck.
So if you sent a Windstone or something else recently, that may have had to pass through New Orleans, keep a look out! I know I am waiting on an item to come via post office….hopefully my hatching tortoise wasn’t on that rig!

From what I heard, a car wrecked and the Postal rig hit the car, then bounced off the guard rail. They didn’t say their were any fatalities. So I am assuming everyone was okay.
After the rig hit the guard rail, which is cement, the cab cought on fire and then the trailer. It closed the interstate for many hours because the flames were so hot the trailer fell apart when they tried to move it. I was on a high rise section of interstate over water.
January 23, 2008 at 1:16 am #658680Fortunately for me I don’t have any Windstones that should be that far just yet. I had two PYO ship out from the factory today, but I don’t think they would go through New Orleans to get to me.

How many of these do you have now? I’ve noticed you have won two or three since you got that one for a steal (~$5).
January 23, 2008 at 9:47 am #658681Holy crap! I hope everyone was ok.

Same here… I hope! I had 2 Poads ship out yesterday, but don’t think they would have gotten that far yet either. I get my stuff only 2 days after it ships out from the factory, when going USPS Priority. We should be good.
I got mixed up on the days, when I first read this. I thought this just happened this morning. But it was yesterday morning.
January 23, 2008 at 3:21 pm #658683Here is a link to an article I just found online. Looks like most of the mail on the truck was either local, or heading to Miami.
And all the drivers involved only got minor injuries. So, they all made it out okay. Thank goodness for that… the crash sounded pretty bad!

January 23, 2008 at 5:31 pm #658684I hope nobody was hurt or killed. Ohhhhhhhh Karen notified me yesterday afternoon that my Mystery Castle #8 was being shipped to me (the message was timed 4:07 PM) so I don’t think it could have gotten that far) but being that I live in FL I hope it wasn’t on that truck. I don’t know if the mail for south Palm Beach Co. goes thru Miami or not. If by some misfortune it was you’ll hear me crying crocodile tears.
