Hi all,
I had yet another sad, sad loss in my family. This time it was my childhood pet, my best most understanding pet in the world; Elvira; Mistress of the Dark, we called her. She was just a regular “black cat” with yellow eyes, but to me she was the world. The one who slept on my head every night to stay warm ( 😆 ) or licked up my salty tears when I was sad. I had her since I was like 5, so that would make her nearly 16 when she died… I loved her so much and when she realized I wasn’t coming back to visit her from my far away home, she didn’t hang on anymore.Sorry, enough of the sad story; the point of this post is:
I would like to find a damaged or used small flap cat bird or bat winged at a reasonable price to paint over fully black with white angelic wings to commemorate her. If anyone has such a piece or even is willing to commission it for me, I’d pay handsomely for it.
Thank you all,
I will scoure Ebay for the right piece too..
~Safyre 😥June 18, 2007 at 5:36 am #590326I’ve got a white bird winged with the ear tips missing. I’ve been thinking about trying to buy a mint one to replace it for a while. I could maybe sell it to you.
How much were you looking to pay? I believe I paid $40 for it.
June 18, 2007 at 11:26 pm #590327So sorry to hear about your loss safyre_dream. I have a fat, happy tabby that I’ve grown up with too, she’s getting old and I dread the day I’ll have to leave her behind. I understand what you must be going through.
For some reason, there seems to be a glut of flapcats on Ebay right now. I haven’t checked to see if any are damaged, but you might have an option there.
Forever seeking: Blackwatch the raffle Old Warrior, Jennifer Miller's pieces, and GB Baby unis!
June 19, 2007 at 12:16 am #590328Sorry to hear about your kitty! My oldest cat is about 13 and starting to slow down. I’m glad she had a good long life with you! 🙂
June 19, 2007 at 1:36 am #590329I’m sorry about your baby. 🙁
If you find your kitty and need someone to do the painting on it, I’d be happy to take the commission.
Good luck, I’m sure someone has one for you.
June 19, 2007 at 2:34 am #590330I’m sorry about your kitty too. I have a 13 year old kitty and a 10 year old kitty. The ten year old is fine, but the 13 year old is getting slower and sometimes has pain in her hips (probably arthritis). I hope you find someone to immortalize your kitty in a statue for you. I’m sure a lot of people here will be willing.
June 19, 2007 at 5:48 pm #590331Sorry to hear about your cat. I have noticed that my pugs are getting more and more gray hairs.
June 21, 2007 at 4:33 am #590332Im so terribly sorry for your loss. I had lost one of my feline babies last year & a friend was kind enough to do as youre going to do and take a broken down flapper and do it in a likeness of my kitty. She did a great job and it sits next to my kitty’s urn. She was 13.
I know youll find what you need but I want to say good luck anyway. I feel for you and will keep you in my thoughts, prayers and my heart as well as little Miss Elvira.
Peaceful Blessings
