Best of luck!!! I’m sure you’ll do well
March 23, 2007 at 6:59 pm #552863Thanks, Star. It’s just a lot of work in a short time… along with teaching (daily lesson plans, grading papers) and taking my class and doing homework in Old English (learning to translate). *sigh* I haven’t had a stress-free semester outside of school either. My husband got Bell’s Palsy, my friend Jenn died, my 78-year-old mother has been falling down lately and I’m worried for her, and I have conventions to arrange — and “trying to pay the bills with a dwindling income” stress… it just seems like a lot sometimes. It’s no wonder I’ve been forgetting things like getting tables at conventions and renting hotel rooms…
That’s what I mean when I say that grad school has made me dumb!

Stress in general will cause lack of focus and forgetfulness. Hang in there, I’m sure you can do it!

Out of idle curiosity, what’s your major? Is this for a BA or Masters?
I am getting a Master of Arts in English with a teaching college writing emphasis. I hope to get a job at a community college, tech school, or private college (I only need a master’s degree for those), or at a publishing company — I have experience in this too. I am trying to finish up my master’s thesis before April 13th. I have two chapters left to write, and probably some editing too, before then. My thesis defense is on April 19th, so then I’ll know if I’m graduating or not.
Good luck getting your thesis in. My sister finally submitted her after a year. She finally might get a Master degree. hehe -
