So my Husband is a viking. Kinda seriously. lol. Decended from them and since we do medieval reenactment gets to be one pretty often. 😉 At an event in August they were selling tshirts with a viking pin up girl on it which he immediately bought for himself. Here is a pic of the shirt:
His one (continuing) complaint though was they didn’t have a redhead version. 😉 He said it a few times & I got an idea for a birthday present as his bday is October 25th. Why not recreate the photo with me as the girl? The idea quickly snowballed & I got some fantastic help from friends; one made the viking 5 sided stool for me. Another let me borrow her round brooches for the clasps. Another brought a spear for me. Someone else found the chain maile bikini place for me to order. I was *really* not keen on that last item but it was needed for the full effect. :p
Another friend of mine & I did the photo shoot last week which we quickly sent the pics to yet another friend to edit them; she needed to add the design into the background and also make the photo look like a drawing. I got the final image this morning and have already placed an order with a tshirt maker to have it printed on a shirt. I’m going to wrap the shirt up and tell him ‘I found the redhead version for you!’ but then see how long it takes him to figure out that it’s ME on the shirt. 😉
Here is the image:
Here is the preview image the shirtmaker gave me:
I’m so excited about it! The only thing not real in that pic is the big design in the back; I used Hubby’s personal shield and helmet as well as his favorite faux raven! 🙂 Pretty neat, eh? I’m hoping he likes it; he’s always said he wanted to get a good pinup style pic of me to paint on his motorcyle too so hopefully this will work for that as well.
Will be giving him his goodies (Shirt, framed print & the wooden stool; it has ravens carved in the top as well!) on Friday the 22nd before heading down to an event; will let you know how it goes!
