I love to play video game and have played some with some truly great art.
My favorite is Shadows of the Colossus. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a game for play station two with some really beautifully designed creatures and some fantastic horse animation.
If you want to go retro there is a very unknown game called Demon’s Crest for SuperNintendo that has some great art in it. The first thing you face is an undead dragon where you can see bones sticking out of the scales and other such details.
There are also many Role playing games such as the final fantasy games and chrono triger that feature some beautiful artwork.
What’s you’re favorite game for art? And why?I would help but I am just to tired to get out of bed today~

Engaged to a WeaselDecember 6, 2006 at 5:21 am #514389As far as in game art, I always loved Chrono Trigger. By today’s standards it’s nothing special, but when it was new, the art was like nothing I’d ever seen before.
And the various Final Fantasy games have had a lot of good in game art, and a lot of great concept art, and fan art.
December 6, 2006 at 7:03 am #514390The art for Panzer Dragoon I really like, it is not flashy but pretty simple.. http://www.moonapples.com/lagi/ – Panzer dragoon Azel has really good art in it. I wish I knew who the artist was!
SOTC also has goood art, Okami is worth a mention (not a favorite style of mine, but still nice to look at), Warcraft/Star craft also I like to look at warhammer art!
Also, Vagrant story/ff12, ff tactic… Akihiko Yoshida does really nice job with armor!
December 6, 2006 at 1:32 pm #514391I was hugely influenced to start painting (and this sounds hokey but it’s true!) by the Sega Genesis game, Ecco the Dolphin: Tides of Time.
I also loved the Dreamcast Ecco game, defender of the future.Chrono Cross was one of my favorite Playstation games for the art.
Currently I am loving on Okami for its wonderful style and overall artistic brush painted feel!

Definately Chrono Trigger and the FF series, some of the new stuff is breath taking!
December 6, 2006 at 5:56 pm #514394I have played numerous PS2 games, but the game that I really like is Magic: The Gathering.
And even though it isn’t a video game, it is a fun game with lots of artwork.

ZOMG MTG! I love Mellisa Benson’s work!
December 6, 2006 at 7:18 pm #514396That Dragon image by Benson is on my Magic The Gathering Shivan Dragon card. Was a strong card until all the expansions came out and made her a weakling 🙁 Not worth playing with her anymore.
As far as video game art, FFVII is just awesome. Even though the PS1 platform is outdated, the character designs, concept art, and movie scenes are breathtaking even still.
December 6, 2006 at 7:54 pm #514397Yep, I haven’t played for about a year. Need to find more ppl to play MTG with.

My favorite image done by her is Phantasmal Mount..
I remember buying the card because it was just pretty, never actually used it in any of my Magic decks though.
I feel another game I should mention that is good in art and in play would have to be Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Such a pretty pretty game.

I play avidly, well used to until they changed everything. I actually have the Nightmare card one of my favorites. Some one actually tried to buy it off me.
