I am getting 3 new horses and my old horse over the next few months. Next thursday will have our new mare delivered…she’s so cute…all black with a white star…she’s 3, only halterbroke and is pretty much destined for the kids as she is only about 14.2 hands, but she’s got a great personality and is very calm and gentle. Should be a good horse in the long run once I’ve got her trained. We’re getting her for $200
My old horse Dancer will be returning to our care, he’s been outgrown where he is at, but will be a great horse to teach the kids to ride on.
Then next month we will be getting two others, a sorrel gelding, real nice looking guy, broke and gentle, 7 years old, with white blaze and 3 socks. We’re getting him for $400 and the fella selling them is willing to take payments.
The last one is gonna be my baby, he’s a gorgous bay gelding, stands 16.5 hands and currently needs some chiropractic help, he threw his hips out falling in the mud, but should be alright once treated. Considering his price, its worth the gamble, $260…he’s about 6 yrs old broke to ride and so sweet. Chiropractor is about $60 a visit…I am so hoping he can be fixed up, if not then he’ll be a pasture pet, but I would be happier if he was a riding horse, but I’m not willing to let him go to the slaughter house, so if not, then pet he will be.
I guess I won’t be buying any Windstones for a bit, but it’s worth it.
I am so happy right now!

Actually I can come pretty close. 😀 We have a very dark bay, a tri-color paint, a sorrel, a light gray (white) and a dark gray.

This is the time of year to buy a horse, the weather is still yucky so no one is really buying, so folks who have a few extra mouths to feed are usually willing to let them go cheap, all three of these guys were rescued from the auction block. The fella who bought them doesn’t care about the money, he just didn’t want to see these horses go to slaughter. So he’s selling them to me for what he paid so they will have a good home.
I really like this man. On top of that, he is going to deliver them to me…course it helps that we only live 5 miles apart. 🙂

I have a bay, buckskin, chestnut and two palominos. Plus a wee one coming soon. Should be bay! I’ve got to go out and take pictures after they shed.
The grooming station looks like a horse exploded after I get done brushing them! Nothing sheds like a pony 😆Congrats again!
