Sorry I just say this forum is specific to chat about our LOVE for Windstones and Melody and her staff.
It could be disasterous if it ever got out of hand

Of course we always end up off track anyway and discuss personal issues which helps us get to know eachohter better

Well, in this particular forum of Community, its description is “Talk about anything you wish here” so technically we are doing that. If they choose to amend that to say “Talk about anything you wish here except religion and politics” or they lock this thread, that’s their right as siteowners. And i certainly understand being cautious but i would also like to believe that we are capable of being adults about controversial topics – show respect and manners while discussing.

      eeep! Ski, I’m so sorry!

I said I really did appreciate the thought! I really did! I’m glad that you wanted to help, it’s so nice of you to care about my problems. I just wanted to let everyone know I wasn’t specifically asking for advice! I didn’t mean to upset you.

And please… where else was I rude to you? I never meant to be rude to you! I like you, I think you’re awesome and nice. Let me know and I’ll apologize. I”m so SO sorry if I’ve upset anybody. I didn’t mean to be offensive at all.

If you didn’t mean to be rude then dont apologize. I felt like I was being targeted by you for some reason. The other posts I was referring to were when you made me feel like a total moron in the movie thread abou Narnia…assuming everyone had read the books and knew it was about religion, when you dissected my joke in the joke forum (Which I can see now may have had a bit to do with the religion, also) The comment about comparing the furry world to Utah, (I know the furry world is a big place, but people meet at conventions, etc, and the Windstone forum is not a big place, so I thought you had either A. Run across each other before or B. You invited Ss here. Turns out I was right…Ss knew you, anyway) and now this one. I felt it was too much coincidence. I read everyone elses posts, and of course people are going to give advice if you post it here. This is not a diary, so we are gonna give feedback. But you didnt say anything until I gave advice. I felt the comment, as all the other ones were, was directed at me. If not, then I apologize for getting upset about it.

Golddragon2, I do not get offended by religion. Thats not what I was upset about. I also agree with Sunhawk…we should be able to discuss anything, so long as it doesnt resort to name calling and being obtuse during a discussion. We are almost all adults, and even the non adults here are capable of rational discussion.

Oh man… I feel like I’ve really put my foot in my mouth!

I totally, totally never meant ANY of those things as any kind of personal remark or anything! I’m really sorry! I’ll try to think about how what I’m saying might sound more, because looking at those, I can totally see why you thought I was being rude.

Well, let’s see. We were alreay talking about religion and politics. Maybe capital punishment or how they are outlawing cursing in the mall? Yea….they just passed a law in Mass that you can’t swear inside a Simon Mall or else you can get kicked out or even banned. WTF?

I try to keep my sailor mouth under control in public anyways just as a common curtosey, but if I slip up and say “Holy Sh*t! What a great sale!” I could get escorted out. I think it’s pretty silly. Actually downright moronic. *shrug*

I for one think its a great thing. People today talk about kids being out of control and having no respect. How am I supposed to raise my child to not curse and respect elders when the elders are running around the mall using profanity? Now, I am an avid curser, however I feel there is a time and place and out in public (in view of children)is not it. I think cursing is for when you are around other adults who are not offended by it and who know when (and when not) to use it. Like adult formats. Bars or your own house… I think that folks who curse on a regular basis in front of everyone, without caring who they offend, just need a better vocabulary and better manners. Notice I said those who do it on a regular basis and dont care who they offend before you lambast me. Just my two cents.

                    I agree.
When in a public space, people need to realize that they are not isolated, and what they do and say can affect others around them.

                    I agree.

My brother is VERY fond of the f-word when he’s upset or angry about something and it’s really tiring to hear “this f’ing guy took my f’ing pencil during my f’ing test that i f’ing failed because of the f’ing time it took to get another f’ing pencil!” and so forth.

Once in a while i slip in front of kids and i usually feel really bad about it.

I’m not a fan of cursing – which is not to say I don’t do it occasionally. It bugs me to hear it a lot. I just consider the law dumb because it’s another example of the government interfering where people should know better on their own. If it were the store’s policy, I’d be all for it. But the way I understand it, the bureaucrats found another thing to stick their fingers into.
(Pretty obvious I’m no fan of current governing tactics, huh?)

Everyone slips, im sure. I do. I just hear the profanity in some of these kids (im talking 8-12 yr olds) and I cant believe the filth coming out of their mouths…till I meet their parents. Then I understand. I still feel funny when I curse in front of others and I feel like a total fool when I curse in front on my bf. I def hold back in front of my son!

Most of the problem is sure to be the parents. And there’s always rap and the movies to blame, too, where people just cuss as if it makes them cool. That annoys me.
I’m sure this sounds inappropriately serious on a ridiculous subject, but I think cussing should be reserved for real anger. It loses all its punch if it’s used all the time.

Too true! As for the Government butting in, I agree, too. Its unfortunate that they should have to. People should know how to behave appropriately, but once again, that goes back to the parents, and lots of times, just to bad or uneducated people. There are many other factors, to be sure, but those are the ones I consider to be most prevalent.
