Hmmm… this was on her page? I think you may have overreacted a bit, but honestly…if religion is so important to you that her joke offends you, then really, you are better off without this friend anyway. Folks get along better with others with similar beliefs… As for her demanding you apologize, thats up to you. If you felt you said something that warrants an apology, then give her one, and then explain why you are awaiting hers. I dont know the whole story, but thats my advice based on what I do know. I hope you and your pal patch this up.

The automatic response of people to hearing somebody’s problems is always advice! Thank you all for your intended kindness, I really do appreciate that you care. But I was just venting, not looking for advice.
I’m sorry that happened. I’m not going to add to the advice. I’m only going to say I know what you are going through. I’ve had many people do the same to me. I’m a Christian. But, I’ve been raised in a multi-cultuaral setting. I’m very understanding of other religons or non-religons. Most of my friends aren’t Christian and I don’t expect them to belive in something they don’t want to. It’s terrible that she said that she respected your religon and then turned around and did that. She can’t see what she did wrong. That’s too bad. Anyways I agree you can’t be friends with every living person. Animals are so much more agreeable are they not?

Edited because I decided not to be so nice. You have been a real jerk to me in about 3 posts now. I think I will just ignore you from here on out. Lots of folks gave advice but I see you didnt have anything to say about it till I did. I will mind my own buisness from here on out…perhaps you shouldnt post it for the world to see if you dont want peoples opinions.

This honestly would offend me too, I am not in need of a ‘seed planting’ either. I may not believe the same as you, I truly do not follow any religion, I choose not too. I do not want anyone else telling me how great their religion is over anothers, I really just dont care to hear it, I also grew up surrounded my many religions. I studied a few on top of those. I like to meet people and be friends with them, but I do not discus religion with anyone because it causes fights, my views are not what most people like to hear.
Boy, am I ever sorry I offended anyone! The “seed ” comment was a positive one, because later on down the road, someone may decide to embrace Christianity. I did not mean for a Christian to stuff it down someone’s throat, but sometimes showing someone the love of Christ is all it takes to open a heart to endless possibilities.
Wow! 😯 Religion is a touchy subject with some people, but I am not ashamed to say that I am a Christian and show others the love of Christ. If I offend by showing love and compassion, please accept my sincerest apologies. My bible tells me to go and make disciples of all, but I would never try to force someone to believe something that they don’t want to. I hope that saying Merry CHRISTmas doesn’t offend anyone either, but I wish it for all of you.

I said I really did appreciate the thought! I really did! I’m glad that you wanted to help, it’s so nice of you to care about my problems. I just wanted to let everyone know I wasn’t specifically asking for advice! I didn’t mean to upset you.

People just want to help and it’s kinda hard to control what sort of things people will reply with to any post ^_^

I don’t think you overreacted at all. Religion can be a very touchy subject for many people. Personally, I don’t care what anyone believes. The bottom line for every religion is belief becuase truthfully, I don’t think ANYONE knows the truth and we’re all along for the ride. I think it’s pointless to get into arguments that can never be solved. I don’t mean to offend be any means, I respect everyones beliefs. If someone wants to preach about God or whomever, then that’s fine with me. Praise God, and whatnots don’t bother me, though I personally don’t believe it. I believe in SOMETHING, but I just can’t define it, and it’s as simple as that. So why rack your brain with something you will never truly know for certain.
I read this whole topic and didn’t find anything offensive at all. I supposed I’m more laid back then most people though. I know this forum isn;t really the place for these types of conversations, but I also think that we’re all adult enough to be secure enough ourselves to be able to embrace some one elses thoughts & be open with eachother.
Honestly, I consider some of the poeple on this forum to be my most cherished friends. It’s too bad when things like this happen. I have no advice for you SPark, everyone well knows I’m a bit of a ranter myself =) I’m the venting queen! LOL! I hope everyone is still bestest buddies after this topic was posted =)
Ski, I don’t think SPark inteded anything mean about the not needing advice comment. I think it was just the timing and she was speaking to everyone who chimed in and it wasn’t aimed directly at you. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t get involved, but I just think it was the order of the posts and bad timing.

Correction, starbreeze – all wars are started over religion. Everybody believes something, even if it’s believing there is no God.
Anyway, SPark, I don’t think that post of your friend was a terribly bright thing to do, but I don’t want to judge anybody because I don’t know the details. I’ll just wish you the best, hope you can get it sorted out, and hope that Ski sees your follow-up on her post.
I gotta go with drag0nfeathers. I’ve been on this forum since October and it’s let me get to know and talk to a lot of great people, some of whom I know better than people I see every weekend at school. So even if things get a little more serious than dragons and gargoyles, I think we’re all mature enough and know each other well enough not to get really fussy over it. Yes, very! I can’t understand that. It’s not like there is just ONE religion that rules over all others. Some may think there is, but I consider them closed minded. *I’m sure I just stepped on some toes there* but honestly? How do you know what to believe. I just try to be a good & moral person & when I die hopefully I’ll go to “a better place” but chaces are I may also just turn into dirt. I try to just get through life day by day and hope there is something more down the road for me, & everyone else but I don’t dwell on it because it’s not like I’m ever going to find out until it happens. What more can you really do? Nobody is right, and nobody is wrong either. Believe what you want if it helps you cope with life easier then hooray. I think chances are, it will all be the same for everyone in the end…whatever “it” is. I used think whatever you believe is what will happen, but then I thought…That’s pretty selfish of people. That would be near impossible to crete everyones ideal version of the afterlife. Okay, off that topic, before I get yelled at. Sorry everyone.
I hate to sound clich’e and talk about world peace, but really? War is so stupid, it’s natural selection at it’s finest, I swear. I can’t stand Bush and count the days until he gets booted out of office.
