Does your computer have a history option? Something that saves the addy’s of all the pages you visit?
September 14, 2007 at 6:13 am #615978It used to until I upgraded to IE 7. I can’t seem to find it now.
September 14, 2007 at 6:35 am #615979Look for a little orange star, up near where the ie window tabs are. Should be on the far left. I have IE7 as well. There is an orange/yellow star that you click, and it should open a window with “favorites” “feeds” and “history” listed.
September 14, 2007 at 7:05 am #615980That is the one I was bidding on. If you look at Astral castles emerald emp, it looks exactly like it.

September 14, 2007 at 7:44 am #615982I will see if I saved it when I get home. I think I did 🙂

September 14, 2007 at 6:51 pm #615984So pretty!! Hey, is that scratcher a jade or regular color? I’m still waiting for mine to come in.
September 14, 2007 at 7:17 pm #615985I was wondering if that emp was jade…it just doesn’t look quite right, though! The golden areas aren’t that weird dark color that the jade scratchers have….
This emp is certainly some kind of variation, though!http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=140151165012&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=004

To me it looks like a regular scratcher compared to the rest of the emeralds. If you compare it to the small wizard (which looks jade to me) then you will be able to tell.

Oh yeah, I DID see that one! I totally forgot about him! I didn’t think much of it though because mine looks almost exactly the same as that in normal lighting. That ebay one may have just a tad more jade though, esp. on the head. On jades, the gold looks funny because it is over the darker jade instead of the light emerald, and so it gives the gold a bronze look. You can see on the side of that emp where the gold color looks almost bronzy because it has overlapped slightly with the jade highlights. The jade on mine’s side stops a hair before the gold though, so the gold lacks the bronze look.
Here are pics I took a while ago of mine in regular lighting. It’s really hard to make the gold show without flash though.
I’m beginning to think more and more that it is mainly just lighting that makes them all look so different.
September 14, 2007 at 8:42 pm #615988Yeah, I figured it was just a jadey emerald instead of a true jade…I saw an emerald lap dragon on ebay a while back that looked just like that, too. I wonder if it’s an older version of the color or just a particular painter’s style?

-J R R TolkienSeptember 14, 2007 at 9:42 pm #615989Ok, I got some way better pics of my guy today. He was in natural lighting so his color looks sooo much more accurate! Picture on the left is what he looks like in very dull lighting, picture on the right is what he looks like when there is more sun and light in the room.
September 14, 2007 at 10:10 pm #615990Pam, that emp is gorgeous!! If you ever want to sell him.. 😉
I’ve found that the ‘true’ jades have none of that nice rich yellowed green (spring green.. apple green… peridot green?) color on them at all. The painters that did the jades forgot it and left it off completely. The emps you are showing seem to just have a lot more of the jade color but aren’t ‘true’ jades 🙂

My art: featherdust.comSeptember 14, 2007 at 11:27 pm #615991You’ve got a very pretty emperor Pam! It’s interesting how light the lighting affects the pictures so much.
Here’s the best picture I could get of the variations in my emerald dragons. With the exception of the curled dragon, the darker ones are older with more of the jade coloring and the lighter ones are newer with more of the gold-green color. I don’t think that any of them are true jades, but the young dragon and the coiled are darker than the rest.
