I’m quite obviously behind on knowing what dragons have been, are no longer and could possibly become…
I just now looked over the Curled Dragons and saw some coloration’s in them that I’ve fallen in love with (I hadn’t looked before since the Curled and Coiled dragons aren’t so much my thing) So I was just wonderin’ if there was a chance at seeing bigger dragons (Mother, Male, Scratching, etc) done in Autumn Leaf, Nutmeg, or Sand? in the reasonably near future? – I’m still looking for a coloration that grabs my heart the way the original peacock color has.. a handful have perked my interest but just haven’t grabbed my attention in a whole yet..
January 7, 2012 at 1:46 pm #868489From what I recall from previous discussions, Sand was too complicated to produce. Nutmeg is too close to Gold probably to make it to production, and good luck with Autumn Leaf. We’ve ALL been barking up that tree for YEARS! I think on top of it being a complicted color combination, a lot of the reds are unstable and can fade in the sunlight over time which was one of the reasons it never got produced despite the huge demand. The same issues for Violet Flame, another really brilliant color that has similar “issues”
Curlies seem to be a sort a way Windstone allows for us poor people who can’t win a lot on ebay to enjoy new color schemes.
Got a busted Windstone?

I hope a new color comes to the store .January 8, 2012 at 1:41 am #868544Indigo. Nice, deep blue dragon, a good replacement for the peacock, but different enough.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

It would be a nice new blue dragon. Different from Peacock and Emerald Peacock. I’m not crazy about the Indigo. It’s pretty, but it’s too monochromatic for my pallet.
January 8, 2012 at 2:43 am #868548I haven’t given up on barn swallow yet!
January 8, 2012 at 4:54 am #868559The Blue Ice is AWESOME!!! I have the lap and they are very different looking from the picture. ALOT more depth in the colors than the picture’s show. It’s also a color that is not like any other production color put out in the store.
I love my lap and the silver horn’s.*** Always looking for Brindles..*** AWD Pieces **** Lavender Coiled Mother with Globe**** if you have one you would like to sell or trade please contact me ?

We need a new blue color anyways, This one is fresh and different from the blues in the past. Plus, silver horns would be an awesome change ;).January 8, 2012 at 11:02 am #868569At the moment, silver horns would not be possible for Production/LP. It takes PS several days to paint a pair, and often because the paint has to be stripped and redone a few times. The paint and clearcoat loves to run, smear, and get specks, so it takes quite a bit of work to get a usable pair of silver horns.
Of course, we might be able to use raw pewter, but only if we had them (all we have are gold-plated lap dragon horns). It would not be a nice bright silver like the laps horns, but at least it wouldn’t be gold.
I found out that if you sand all the gold plate off a silver horn, it turns a beautiful “white gold” color.

Thanks for bringin me up to date on all this! 🙂
Is Nutmeg really that close to Gold? To me it looks like its rich dark browns.. even much different from the original brown color scheme.. I’m generally not a fan of gold, but will favor brown tones sometimes… ‘n I really liked the look it has on the curled…
I remember Melody mentioning that Sand was difficult to paint when I commented on a photo on dA, I was just sorta hoping when I noticed a couple smaller dragons actually produced the color for the store.. so it was worth asking, lol.. Its such a beautiful color mix, it’s a shame it’s too difficult to produce larger dragons!
As for Autumn, if the reds are unstable then that makes perfect sense to not put that out as a full color scheme as of yet.. I do digital paintings, so fade resistance is something I have to be well aware of for printing painting commissions.. I can only imagine how much of a big deal it is on these guys compared to mine (After all, mine can always be re-printed if something happens )
I feel ya on not being able to afford the ebay ones! They turn up some gorgeous colors I would love to see hit even a limited production, but I certainly can’t afford the $400 or so for the bigger dragons (Mother, Male ‘n the like – Which are the ones I’m really looking into) It’s great to see Melody doing so well with her art though 🙂 Not many artists can put something up on ebay, start at $.99 and see it shoot to several hundred within hours!
I’ll just keep a close eye on the dragons and the unis and keep wracking my brain for which I would like best 🙂 then keep a close eye on ebay for a Peacock Mother (My all time fave) ~ ‘n see how this BVP/BEP thing turns out.. I like the potential of this color, but the way the OW’s colors came out, it hasn’t quite grabbed me like the look on Lap Dragon… I’m probably just too damn picky for my own good, haha
— ‘n I wouldn’t mind seeing Indigo come out, the looks of them on Ebay has me quite excited, I like the contrast of the dark blues with the gold 🙂 I think overall I’m looking for a color scheme that accents the Windstone dragons to the extent *I* feel they deserve.. these beauties deserve to look nothing like anything else sitting on my shelves of dragon figurines! ‘n I always felt peacock did that for them, Emerald peacock does this too, and these BEP/BVP also have that stand out-like nothing else out there look to them…
I also do like the silver dragons, ‘n I think that color would look awesome with blue accenting on it to give it some pop, sorta like the way the sand dragons were painted, but have the sand tone be the silver coloration and the turquoise be blue (That makes sense in my head, I hope it does to everyone else too, lol) or even blue with a *hint* of violet in it..January 11, 2012 at 2:20 am #868822The next color to be in the store ( limited production) will be the Black – Peacock
Old Warriors.
OK, I guess I’ve been convinced that we should call this color a “Black Violet Peacock version 2” instead of “Black Emerald Peacock” because it matches the BVP lap dragon we sold a few years ago.
Even though it looks more like a Black Emerald Peacock to me…:P thppp -
