I also have an unpainted Unicorn but someone else painted it with a gold pen (18K I think) and I’d like to change the horn to a natural bone color so is there any primer I can use to cover the gold or can i just paint over the gold (which is chipping off anyway)? Thanks so much for any help!

The horn itself is pewter. I’m assuming you have one of the PYO-horn PYO unicorn. If the paint is already flaking off, I’d first remove it, then prime it, then paint it.

I’m not sure what I would use to remove the paint – simply a stiff old toothbrush to begin, then q-tip dipped in acetone or the likes if push comes to shove.

To prime the horns, I use a spray-on sealant.

Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.
