Awhile back I bought a male unicorn on ebay (BIN) and now when I see others on ebay they look shiny. The one I got has a rather dull finish but on the lower right rear it says Pena@89. Do you think this is a fake or just the way the others look on ebay?
Looks real to me. A fake unicorn probably wouldn’t have the right horn, and the eyes would almost certainly be painted on, not glass, and the crystals inset in the neck would probably be painted in as well. (The result of casting a copy off of a production piece. Happens to the dragons on pretty much all the fakes, but I’ve never seen a fake unicorn.)
Does he have a felt pad on the bottom? Some of the unicorns were sold with a more ‘satin’ finish and are less glossy. 🙂

Yes he does have the felt pad on the bottom. Now that I look at the picture I posted he does look shiny like the others on ebay but he looks rather flat – in person! Hey I finally got a picture to flow thru to the forum from photobucket – that’s a first. Make a note of that GB
His mouth is shaded in a grayish black it must be the angle I took the picture.

My art: featherdust.comI had two unis at one point. One was totally matte, and the other was verry shiny. Looked like the clear coat was missing or something, but probably just two different painters.
