My sister invited me to the international orchid show over in Cocoa (FL), and to lunch at a local destination restaurant ‘Dixie Crossroads’ over in Titusville on the way home. We passed a small hole-in-the-wall thrift store on the way back out to the interstate, so we decided to stop in. There I made a Windstone find! (worth trumpeting anytime it happens lol) Sitting there on teh wall were 2 colored unicorn prints, “Unicorn with Babies” C-1100 and “Unicorn with Blackberries” C-1101. I don’t collect unicorns and am planning to move soon, so I could use the cash more than the prints. I will try to take better pictures when the tropical storm passes, but will try to nitpick any damage. They display well, I may make them sound worse than they are! They are shrinkwrapped in plastic on a cardboard backing.
I am taking offers on them until Tuesday night.
Plastic is largely intact on this one. There is a small snag/rip over the word ‘babies’, which has a dark spot on it. The corners are bumped some, more on the cardboard than the paper. There is a depression like a fingernail impression near the left rear fetlock on Mom. There is a mark like a pinhole over Mom’s mane, and another 3″-4″ to the side over her back.
Suggested start bid $20, tentative offer of $30.
The plastic is pulled/ripped up on this one over the snout. Corners once again are bumped, and the upper left one looks like a kitten chewed on it some. There is a very faint smudge (about thumbprint size) on the lower left side where the rip is, so faint it may be me. This one has a Disney World price tag on it.
Suggested start bid of $25August 26, 2008 at 9:08 pm #729140I’ve had no offers and really would rather not resort to eBay, so I’ll extend the offer until Saturday night 8/30 if anyone is interested. 🙁 The suggested offers were just that, suggestions of what I was told the pieces may be worth. If you don’t want to offer that much, you can still make an offer! I went out and tried to take pictures of the damage, and my husband enhanced the pics for me to try and show the damage up better. There is some dirt on the plastic shrinkwrap, which for fear i haven’t tried to clean off.
This is the smudge(?) in front of the nose on the headshot C-1101 pic. It is almost easier to see in this enhanced pic than in real life.
The chewed on corner of C-1101. It is also enhanced, and is the only chewed on part.
Grr plastic flipped back down when the shutter snapped! There is a faint spot right next to the right whisp of forelock on C-1101. (top whisp when the picture is placed vertically as intended)
This bumped corner on mom w/ babies C-1100 is the worst one on either pic.
The dark snag/spot near the bottom of C-1100.
The pinholes near the top of C-1100.August 26, 2008 at 10:31 pm #729141Man, I really love the mother unicorn with the two babies, but I don’t have any money to offer right now. Sorry, but good luck with selling these!
