Ugh that is even a bad fake or re-paint whichever
August 13, 2007 at 8:30 pm #607771Nothing wrong with dead things. They’re great as artistic reference! But I have a feeling that this seller is obviously being dishonest (I mean come on, if you sell taxidermy stuff one would hope that they would know the difference between real bone and whatever these fakes are made of [resin or plaster probably]).
I have an inkling that they know they are rip offs (an may even be making them), but innocent till proven guilty and all that! 😉

Eeeeugh. So they dug up old bones, ground them into dust, mixed them with Elmer’s glue, and cast the paste in a mould made from an original Male Dragon.
Made from authentic animal bone indeed!
😆 😆 😆
I burst out laughing.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

August 14, 2007 at 12:05 am #607774What freaking animal in the world has bones big enough to sculpt something the size of the male?? I’m pretty sure most museums would protest if you tried to walk out with a mammoth leg. 😯
August 14, 2007 at 2:40 am #607775Heheh, yeah, be careful what you say, a lot of artists I know like to keep dead things around as artistic reference. Like Vantid and our dear Melody. XD
Oh, gosh, poor Melody when she had to pull down that “dinner sculpture” offa Elfwood since so many people were too squeamish!
August 14, 2007 at 2:44 am #607776Do you have a pic of the Dinner sculpt?
August 14, 2007 at 3:27 am #607777Good catch, PhoenixTears. Those are ugly ripoffs.
August 14, 2007 at 3:47 am #607778oh those things scare me. animal bone??/???
I am going to refrain from saying the comment that is in my head. it would not be a nice one at all. >_>
August 16, 2007 at 2:19 pm #607779Ok, I had contacted the seller just to ask for more pictures. I acted like I was interested in buying them. You know what he said? “sorry but time does not permit transmitting more pictures thanks”
There are three days left on the auction! You know he is up to something.
I especially wanted to see better pictures of the eyes and the back of it.
I know Nam said not to contact the seller about the items being fakes, but I thought there would be no harm in asking for more pictures.
I hope he gets in trouble for pulling this!August 16, 2007 at 5:26 pm #607780Yeah, those “bones” have a bad case of the fuglies… 😆 😆
August 16, 2007 at 8:32 pm #607781fuglies, haha
