By now, you must have seen that Kyrin is coming to Toronto in August, so I figured it’s the perfect time to get the area’s members together. I know it’s a bit in advance, but people’s calendars get filled up real fast for the summer, so I’m not taking any chances.
It will be on Monday, August 3rd (Civic Holiday), early afternoon. Hopefully, we’ll be able to have a BBQ outside and maybe even swim! More details on that as the date gets nearer. For now, I just want people who’ll come to let me know so I can plan for the number.
Area wise, I’m in Brampton, Sandalwood and McLaughlin. Please PM me if you’re coming and I’ll get you the direction details.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

My art: featherdust.comMay 21, 2009 at 1:22 am #765598I wish I could make it but I’m about and hour and a half away and I don’t drive on the HWY…I really don’t like HWY’s and depending on what happens with Maks I’m afraid to committ and not be able to make it….I wish it was closer to here I would really love to meet up.

May 21, 2009 at 9:38 am #765599Bummer, I was hoping you would come, Marzena. Perhaps I will make a trip to you, after all an hour and a half isn’t that bad a drive. It all depends, so much to do. We’re planning a trip to Nigara, ROM, China Town, Toronto Zoo, and several other places during the week. I don’t leave until the following Sat. So I will be there Aug. 1st through to the 8th, though of course on the 8th I won’t really have time to see anyone and the 2nd is my unwind from getting there day, with the 3rd being the beginning of doing stuff.

My art: featherdust.comMay 21, 2009 at 7:21 pm #765601I’m right downtown Kyrin, so if you want to see Chinatown, I can give you the tour. Kensington Market is right there too which has a lot of great little clothing stores.
And I’d love to come Medley.

Sounds good, my chaperone and I will talk to you about a good day in the week for that at the BBQ.

Last time I was at Niagara I so wanted to go to that aviary! But I couldn’t because I didn’t have a bloody passport. 🙄 That and it was a group trip and the group only went to the Canadian side anyway…..May 22, 2009 at 2:48 am #765604I’ll see if I can find a way to Toronto that day. I have to see if I can afford the greyhound or the train. But, it would be fun. 🙂
May 22, 2009 at 3:22 am #765605Right, I will remind my chaperone to update his passport so we can check out the aviary.

If you would be driving into Canada instead of flying you could always look into the PASS Card. It’s a little cheaper than a full passport ($94.95 ages 16 and up vs $149.95 ages 16 and up).

Isn’t this in Canada? It’s just down the street from the falls, and if you keep going eventually you’ll run into the Floral Clock, Niagara Parks Botanical Nature Gardens which has the butterfly conservatory. Oh there’s all sorts of places to stop between the Floral Clock and the Gardens. Some great places to hike and great scenery of the river. If you keep going you’ll end up in Niagara On the Lake. A great place to shop, and actually has a rich history. There is a shop there that has a bear back candle lamp. It’s missing the votive, but otherwise in great condition. But, it’s pricey (just like everything in Canada).

Actually the American dollar is worth more than the Canadian dollar, with the C dollar being roughly worth $.83 cents of the A dollar at current rates. So while it seems like it costs more, it actually costs less or the same as here.
For example when you look at the back of a book for price and it has the two prices, one is american money and the other is canadian money, so a canadian is paying more, due to their dollar being worth less, but we are both paying the same amount in American money.
Sucks though for the Canadians though, my money goes farther when I visit, which is good for me, but doesn’t help them a whole lot. Unless my spending helps the economy. 🙂
