    That’s just too bizzare. Even if it was agoraphobia, that’s a pretty extreme case. How very wierd.

      I watched the video of the interview with him. >.> He didn’t sound or look mentally challenged…but he was definitely mentally unstable, given that it took him two years to decide to call someone about it. c.c;

        Maybe I’m just the restless type, but I simply cannot fathom sitting in one spot for two *years* when I have trouble staying put for just two hours.

        Those are some really strange cases.

          I suffer from agoraphobia. About 8 years ago I couldn’t leave our apartment. I’d get panic attacks and throw up. Took me 4 years working with my shrink, my bf and massive combinations of drugs to where I could go out but not by myself. Now we’ve finally gotten the right combo of drugs and therapy so I can say I can go out and I’m okay (as okay as I’m going to get since I suffer from social anxiety too).

          But just the one room? Even that is too extreme for me. To not have a shower or brush your teeth…ick.

            I think they both need some mental help.

            Ditto that, Rusti.
            I saw that story on MSN yesterday and could only wonder. I’m glad there were no pictures included. You gotta wonder about some people…

              Folks it’s a mental disorder. She may have never let him in that bathroom all teh time so he did not realize that she was sitting onthe toilet 24/7. He was giving her food and drink so at the time maybe he thought it was jsut natural for her to sit and eat

                I don’t think she was on the actual toilet for the whole two years. She’d move around the bathroom, but it did say that she’d been sitting there for at least a couple of months without moving (at which point her legs atrophied and the whole place started smelling like…well…her) before he called someone. And she didn’t lock him out of the bathroom. >.>;

                  Im guessing you didnt read the article in the first post? She let him in. He fed her and supposably bathed her. Their relationship was described as normal, besides the fact that she wouldnt come out of the bathroom.

                    Well, that’s what he said, but if it smelled that bad in there, she must not have bathed.

                      Just because it’s a mental disorder doesn’t mean we’re not allowed to weigh in on how we’d never manage such a feat. Yeah, in this case, sounds like there’s a problem but there are some people who do not have a disorder and are just that flippin’ lazy.

                      That is really strange. I hope she can walk again.

                      OH MY! My question would be what happened two years ago when she started living in the bathroom? They lived together for 16 years. Can you imagine how much her legs must have hurt with an infection in them? That alone would have caused such an odor! Poor, poor thing!
