I saw this just now, and thought it was really cool, never would have thought of doing one this way, but is sure is neat looking. I’d get it if I could afford to, but alas, I’m broke…
Thought I’d show you guys.

January 19, 2008 at 6:56 pm #657928Neat, and astonishing detail! Talk about going cross-eyed painting her.
But it’s not for me. It almost feels like we’re losing the 3D effects carved in the sculpt.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

January 19, 2008 at 7:21 pm #657931I don’t know if I like the fact that she painted the horn or not.
January 19, 2008 at 8:04 pm #657932The amount of detail on it is astonishing. She must have lots of patience!
January 19, 2008 at 9:39 pm #657933That one really impressed me too. I thought about bidding on it. 🙂
January 20, 2008 at 1:47 am #657934Yeah, it looks like a very lovely PYO! With that style, it makes me think of a pony in the winter with the longer coat. I’d grab her if I could (trying to be a good little Siberakh until after my trip ).
January 20, 2008 at 1:54 am #657935I love it! just wish she hadn’t painted over the horn…one of the prettiest unicorns I’ve seen. 🙂
January 20, 2008 at 2:11 am #657936Yeah, I was disappointed about the horn painting over too, but other than that, I thought the overall style was really neat.

January 20, 2008 at 7:01 am #657937I think it is pretty neat. Like Sib said, I immediately thought it looked like it had a really long coat, which sets it apart from all the other PYO unicorns I’ve seen 🙂

I had a similar observation. I’m not sure how to word it correctly, but it kind of looks like a painted 2D horse on a 3D object 😕
I wonder if the artist knows about the forum?
January 20, 2008 at 12:58 pm #657938I don’t like this one. I think the dapple unicorn is nicer. (Not the sculpt, but, I like how she painted that one better.) It’s nice, and impressive. I just wouldn’t want it on my shelf. At first I thought she had done the whole thing with pencil crayons. I had to read it a few times.
I actually like the horn like that. I think it’s neat.
January 20, 2008 at 3:56 pm #657939I’m impressed with the amount of time she put into it. WOW! Such patience.
It reminds me of one of those velvet critters. I can’t figure out if I like it or not. Part of me says wow that looks cool, while the other part says not so much. Hubby says not on this sculpture, but he likes the texture.
I also like the painted horn.January 20, 2008 at 11:52 pm #657940I like this one as well, but I wasn’t too sure about the painted horn.
