Although our eBay auctions state that payment must be received within 14 days, I had been very lenient with this rule. Starting today, the 14 day rule will be enforced, and an unpaid item case will be automatically opened after 14 days of non-payment. After a case is opened, a buyer has 4 days to pay. If the buyer has not paid after 4 days, the case will be automatically closed and the item will be offered to the second highest bidder.
Please email me at ebay@windstoneeditions.com if you have any questions.
August 23, 2012 at 1:37 am #885259That’s seems very reasonable.
I didn’t evey know that ebay had a 14-day rule.
August 23, 2012 at 3:59 am #885274Requiring payment within 14 days is more than reasonable. All auctions I’ve ever bid on has been pay within 3-7 days, occasionally a BIN that requires immediate payment.
September 5, 2012 at 7:02 pm #886013I didn’t know about the 14 day rule but 14 days seems way more than reasonable most sellers require payment with 3 to 5 days.
September 6, 2012 at 3:43 pm #886049I have unpaid assistant. The time allow to pay for my items is 3 days. An by it now should immediate payment not 3 days and most sellers require payment right now or the item stays up for sale untill the item is payed for –as it should be. A buy it now to me means just that. But now pay now. I can’t go to the store and buy it now and leave the store with the item unless I use my credit card and believe me they are not going to hold the item for a week let alone 14 days till I get good and ready to pay for it. So why should I ?
So yes Winstone is very reasonable with that policy. Does anyone know that from the moment a item is purchaced or sold that eBay automatacally charges the seller for that sale. Weather that item is payed for or not does not matter to eBay. Another thing when I ask in my listing that buyers wait for the auction bill from me before paying so I can get the correct shipping costs for them. It’s not so I can charge you more. But rather because eBay charges me for the total sale price plus the shipping cost I estimated. So if I have to do a refund threw Pay Pal on the shipping paid that is just to bad for me I already got charged the percentage by eBay for your total cost paid. There is no going back once the item is paid for at eBay but I still refund on the overcharges on the shipping costs. Just so you know.
