Yeah, frogs. LOL I have seen it before, but not just bullfrogs. I have seen a hundred + tree frogs in a single pool. That is what you get when you live near heavily wooded areas and have a pool. Also, last summer my boss’s pool was home to about 50 bullfrogs. 😯 I got to watch them from about 2 inches in length until they hit 5 inches in length.
Normally that wouldn’t happen, but hey lost their liner last year. They never got around to fixing it, so it looked like a pond, so why not frogs? 😆 🙄May 7, 2008 at 5:04 am #696399Pretty goose!
I’m so excited – they actually fly over all the time here in Oregon. 😀 It’s wonderful to hear them honking over head, and to watch them in the river.
I spotted a pair of Ospreys by the river yesterday, too! ^_^
A couple of weeks ago, we found a newt and chased a garter snake into the grass….
There are definitely some things I love about it here!
0_0 I can’t imagine what would turn up in pool around this place. Not that it’s warm enough to enjoy a pool anyway. Well, maybe for 2 months out of the year!

-J R R TolkienMay 7, 2008 at 5:48 am #696400I saw a crow attacking two hawks? at my college today, and the single crow was winning 😀 I stood and watched him attack each in turn, people were looking at me funny “why is she standing in the middle of the walkway looking at the sky?” 😆
May 7, 2008 at 12:53 pm #696401The geese are all over the place, anywhere you have open grass space. It was really weird to see this one in our backyard: it’s just not big enough for them.
They’re beautiful, and I just love how they honk. However, DM’s right, they are fierce and will defend themselves.
We open the pool late May, and close it sometime in September, depending on the temperature, so it’s a good 3 months of use. And we love every moment of it, especially when we get home after a hot car ride in July. Get out, get changed, plouf, then you can think about dinner!

I would love to have a pool- we’ve looked into it but it seems the upkeep and chemicals and what not can get pretty expensive 🙁

Depends first on the type: above ground are cheaper. I just bought everything to open, including the chlorine and the cartridge for our special filter, and it amounted to $200. I’ll need the closing chemicals, around 35-40$, and that’s roughly it. We let the filter run about 6-8 hours a day, when we’re at work. I clean it myself.
I really depends how much goodies you want to put in it.
